The bus suddenly turned quiet the moment I stepped in. I knew it had something to do with me because before I came in, I could hear their voices from outside the bus, talking about what teens liked to talk about.
But now, their focus remained on me as I shuffled through the seats to get to Maurice who was now enthusiastically waving at me.
" Don't mind them, I swear they are just a bunch of toddlers who happen to have had a growth spurt" she said.
It was supposed to make me feel better, I knew that, but somehow, it just made me feel less.
" It's fine. When are we moving? I thought I nearly missed the bus" I said to her.
She shurgged.
" You have no idea how long it would take for the buses to get moving. The PE teacher is not around yet and I wonder why the hell the driver
