I have heard of them. They resided in these dense parts of the forests, away from civilization.
I have never lived in packs like this. My mother made sure of that. But now that I was faced with one of these creatures she only told me about at night, every sense of security I had spent my time building up was thrown out the window.
It growled at me again, this time around, more of a warning, as though it was giving me time to run, but I could tell from its eyes that it just wanted a game of cat and mouse.
Still, I turned around, the basket was now forgotten as I fled, my legs hitting the ground with soft thumps, its own gigantic paws falling in line with me as though it was teasing me to run faster.
