CHAPTER 6-THE FIRST FIGHT

They tried to make the sword become more effective when someday Keita encountered a sucker. Even Tengen doesn’t know if it will work or not, but it is still worth trying. However, it is just a rumor and can't be proved authentically. Only his master knew the original story of it. Even so, Tengen doesn’t give the sword directly to Keita yet, because at that time he was still so young. His master kept that sword away and will give it to him until he is old enough to use it. Keita was equipped with a “bokutō” (a wooden katana sword) to practise “kenjutsu” (sword skill). Until he was seven years old with the looks of seventeen years old, the sword was finally given to keita but keita never used that sword once, since he’s not in a battle or war, or encountered a sucker either, so he has no use for that yet. At that time Japan entered a new era called “Meiji-era or Meiji-Restoration” in 1868. However, he did carry his sword around even though he also brought his bokutō as well. His first encounter with the sucker was in the forest when he turned six with the appearance of a sixteen years old human. At that time, keita was meditated to maintain his inner qi-energy at the waterfall of a lake inside a forest, which was located not far from the shrine. Suddenly, he heard someone screaming out loud from the forest direction. At the beginning, he was a little hesitant to take a look. However, the person later was screaming for help until the sound slowly faded in the dark. He knew he must do something, if not the person's life might be in danger, because no one knows what happened to that person. So, he grabs his clothes and his sword to run in that sound direction. When he got deeper into the forest, not far from his location, he saw a shadow was hugging another shadow on the ground. So he got closer to get a better view.

Keita: “Hey, sir… Are you… okay there???”

but no one answered him as the shadows were still busy doing their thing. When he got quite close enough, under the moonlight shining, he saw the shadow figure was not hugging another person. Eventually, the figure was biting the other person. Keita quickly draws his sword out from his scabbard to stand on guard while he keeps walking toward them slowly. Not long after, the figure heard the footsteps sound and quickly turned over his head. Keita was shocked as he saw the figure with 2 red eyes and sharp canine-tooth, with mouth open wide. He never saw a sucker in his whole time. At that time, he knew the figure that he saw was the sucker that he meant to eliminate. So he raised his bokutō in case the sucker attacked him.

Keita: “Let… that man go…!!!” (tremble and scare),

The sucker slowly stood up and stared at him, like a predator was staring at its prey. It’s a female vampire. Keita quickly pulls out his sword to standby in case the sucker comes to attack him. When they were still staring at each other, and none of them were moving yet, suddenly someone appeared behind Keita. It's his master, Tengen. His master was coming to look for him as the night was getting late, and Keita still hadn't come back home yet.

Tengen: “Keita… What are you doing there???”

Keita: “Sensei, go…!!! Run…!!!”

Tengen still doesn't realize there was a sucker there that was going to fight with Keita, since it was very dark that night. His master also does not know what keita means when keita tells him to run. He was quite confused. When he directed the lantern lamp in his hand to the sucker’s direction, he was shocked. It’s a sucker, he thought to himself. Then suddenly the sucker was already standing in front of him, and Keita couldn't even react. The sucker already attacked his master. However, spontaneously, Keita raised his hand to block the attack from the sucker, and the vampire’s fangs were bitten on his right arm already. He can only scream out loud. Then he dropped off his bokutō that he held with his right arm earlier, which was bitten by the sucker and quickly grabbed with his left hand. Without thinking anymore, he stabs the sucker with his bokutō on the back of her shoulder until piercing through the chest. Luckily, Keita’s strike has missed the heart, so the sucker is still safe. The sucker was so angry and with one push, Keita was flying backward quite far from the early position until he hit one of the trees there and fell to the ground.

Female-vampire: “What… are you??? Your blood… is special…”

Not only his body hit on the tree, but his head as well. Keita felt his head turn upside down and his sight slowly blurred when he fell to the ground. The sucker pulls keita’s bokutō out and breaks it into two.
