The Magnificent SevenDo you ever think about numbers? I’m really not very good with them. I’m weak at math, dreadful at science. Really, I can barely remember numbers, and yet they’re important. Important in terms of symbols, or symmetry—even or odd, positive or negative. People have favorite numbers.
Numbers also aren’t open to interpretation like words or colors. We know what 12362 is, but what’s “meadow green”? Even colors defined by numbers make more sense like a television projecting light through a range of 255 shades of red, blue, or green. Combinations creating millions of discrete colors.
One is the loneliest number. Feist counts to four; Hendrix asks if six was nine.
