Maybe he had noticed that she'd checked his lips because he immediately moistened them, and she suddenly felt a little embarrassed.
"About last night..."
"What about last night was a mistake. I guess that I might have had too much wine to drink. That wasn't me. I assure you that it would never happen again," Diane didn't let him finish, she cut him short with her abrupt words.
