I slowly woke up, the warm sun shining on my face. As I look around, the bright sun fills the room as the cool breeze blows through the open window on the other side of my room; I breathe in the fresh air, the smell of trees and flowers, hearing the birds sing their morning son, I look over at my clock on my nightstand' 6 am. i stand up and stretch walking towards my closet getting dressed and ready for training today .strolling through the house ,entering into the kitchen I see Freya "good morning Freya" I say with a smile as I grab myself a quick breakfast "good morning sweetie" she said as I start to walk out of the kitchen I feel her eyes still on me ,when Killian walks in he gives me a slight smile as my cheeks turn red remembering the events of yesterday "morning sky" he says now his smile turning into a grin "morning Killian" I say as I start to walk faster slightly tripping on my feet but I manage to catch myself my face going a brighter shade of red as embarrassment sets in knowing full well that Freya seen everything as I walk out of the house taking the last bite of my sandwich walking toward the forest for some solo training ,I told Freya that I was training all day as an excuse to get out of dress shopping ,I know shes throwing a big party for my 18th to make up for all the years that I wouldn't except anything more then a small dinner just with the four of us , I felt bad sometimes because I know she is just doing it out of love and she always wanted a daughter but never ended up having the chance they tried for years ,I know it hurt her but she just tells me that she believes it was what the world had planed for her so she could save and raise me. She has been there for me through everything since that day, loving me as her own and showing me what mother's love truly is.
I started my training with a run, weaving in and out of the trees; I needed to work more on my stealth in the forest and my agility among the trees. I am good at hand-to-hand combat but need a little more practice. I am not very social, so I never do group training. I have a few times, but I found it boring and uneventful. It's mostly just two people fighting to the best of their ability till someone taps out; I prefer agility and strength training more than sparing. In battle, you need strength, agility and strategy to determine your opponent's weaknesses. After training in my wolf form for a few hours, I shifted back and put on the workout clothes I had left by the tree. A sports bra and a pair of shorts that are a bit too short to walk around in public; before starting on the next stage of my workout, building strength in my hands that are littered with scars, I find the giant tree and start chipping away parts of the tree trunk with each punch. It pains my hands but brings me a little pleasure. With each hit, the tree shakes and chips away. With each hit, letting my claws come out at the end, swiping and cutting down what was left of the tree as it fell, smashing to the ground with a large thud. I decided I needed to run in my human form to the river to clean myself off before returning to the house. It's not far from where I broke out into a sprint. I felt the burning in my legs as I reached the waterfall, slowly taking off my clothing and placing them at the base of a nearby tree to keep them dry, slowly stepping into the warm water, letting it ease and loosen my muscles. I step under the fall, feeling the water run over me as I relax. All I can think about is the events the other night with Killian. He always acted so cold toward me that I never saw him smile or show any emotion. Then, out of nowhere, he kissed me as if he was hiding his emotions the entire time. How long had he thought about me that way, or was it just a one-time thing? I had been dreaming of it happening for years, but recently, the feelings are getting stronger, making it hard to hold back, like a fire igniting in me that I didn't know there before. After cleaning myself off, sitting in the sun to dry off, and looking up at the sky, I got up, put my clothes back on, and headed toward the house to look for Freya.
I felt a little lousy avoiding going out with her as it was not about the dress but bonding time; after a few hours of training and thinking over everything, I made my decision. As I walk to the house, looking around for Freya, I look over to the garden and spot her, walking over as she turns around and sees me. I smile as I see she is smiling and happy; gardening is a calm place. As the forest is for me "Freya, "I said with a smile, getting her attention, "Yes, sweetie, do you need something?" She said with a smile, grabbing a rose and handing it to me. "Yes, I wanted to see if you were busy. I finished training and was wondering if you wanted to go shopping today instead since there are two more days left till the party" I saw the bright smile on her face, glowing with happiness.
We spent a few hours shopping, finding the dress I wanted to wear. For my birthday and getting dinner out with just the two of us, it was nice for Once, instead of having conversations at the dinner table between the four of us. Freya got my attention as we were eating dinner "so, sky, What happened the other night with Killian? You two have been very different around each other," she said with a smirk. I can feel my cheeks turning a light shade of pink. She Raises an eyebrow "no..nothing like your thinking; we just bumped into each other after a run and talked a bit." I said as I looked back down at my plate, trying to hide my face and cheeks. I was becoming a brighter shade of red. It was her son, and I was like a daughter to her. I don't know how she would feel if I explained that we kissed. "okay Then sweetie, but when you want to talk about it or anything, and I mean anything else, I'm always here for you, "she says with a smile; she doesn't seem too convinced by my answer. She can see right through me as she returns to her dinner, smiling. Over dinner,
We discussed training and ensuring everything was ready for my birthday. Only two days are left until my birthday, and I feel everything will change. I don't know whether it scares me or excites me. The rest of the night was calm; I went to sleep easily tonight. Training and shopping exhausted me.
Dream flashback
I'm running through the forest, hitting trees as I run, not even stopping to see if I've hurt myself. My whole body and heart are screaming for me to stop; full of fear, I look back. And see him running after me, tears streaming down, fear and sadness sweeping through me. I keep running as long as I can until I can't feel my legs underneath me. I've been running with everything I have. Finally, I had to stop and turn around for a second, trying to catch my bearings to figure out what way to run. Then, suddenly, I turned back around. I held my breath, frozen in fear and terrified, as my father walked up to me. "You thought you could get away, sky?" he said with an evil grin with a look of hell in his eyes.
