Sacrifice

Aaron He was right there, so close yet so far away. I didn’t expect the mist to allow my entrance. The fact that it did, meant that I should be here and I was glad I decided to come in the end. My brother Walden sat on the stage with the ambassadors. I couldn’t have been more proud. We were identical, expecting for our eyes he had mom’s eyes and I our father’s. I learned this fact from Dillon, who was close to my parents. The information Dillon presented in this meeting wasn’t obtained only from him but from some of the Night Wolves and me. I had to disguise myself before coming here. When Bo completed his mission to get his friend and my brother to the place, we agreed in private, then I could enact my plan. I didn’t claim Bo that night for her safety. Dillon was both happy and angry about things, but I couldn’t keep it from him even if I wanted to. We had to find that accomplice and my brother Walden was the key. I could feel something was wrong with my brother’s memory. His reaction to Bo’s friend Ria gave me the sense that she could help him and me. Everything started on the day of our tenth birthday. The day of our first shift, I would never forget what Walden had done for me and neither would Dillon. Walden never got to discover how strong he could be. He was the most suppressed Night Wolf out of all of us. That necklace had completely changed who Walden was destined to become. His sacrifice that day had given some of us freedom, but it had imprisoned him in a s*****y he didn’t even know he had been in. His wolf, now free, would be like an unbridled child making up for all the things he had missed within the wilderness that was the Dark Woods. Once Walden’s true abilities were fully unleashed, they would attract both foes and enemies alike. The Night Wolves, that were left behind, had suffered right along with him. While Dillon, a few Night Wolves, and I had gotten stuck through times within the Forbidden Forest, The Dark Woods, and the Outskirts. The information we gained was paramount and that included the truth about Ria’s family. Something we couldn’t discuss here. There were still spies from the Night Wolf accomplice and the Red hunters. They were waiting for us to make a move. So we had to move stealthily. Having the ambassadors' assistance was a welcome union. Their missions hadn’t been activated yet, but my instincts told me that Sapience kingdom would be one of them. The people here were angry. Dillon and I had expected this outcome. They had been led astray by the Red family, and that accomplice for too long. It was my duty to protect my brother and the people I cared most about. The years passed had pushed me to become stronger. I would not let my brother become a sacrifice again. Christine had taken both of us, but in truth, she wanted only one. She couldn’t tell in our infancy which one of us was stronger and had to wait for us to grow up a bit. With the help of her accomplice, she kept us apart, hiding one of us underground in a special facility. I had never seen a man's face, but on that day Walden did. The medicine she had been dosing him with, like the rest of us, no longer worked. He had been showing signs of the change and his wolf instincts caught on to something amiss. His memory had been altered to think that it was him on the bed that day, but in truth it was me. Born with a strong aura, Christine mistook me for the stronger one. My change did not surface on this day, but Walden’s did and, since she had what she wanted, I was sentenced by her to death. This triggered Walden, his bond with me as brothers and his calling with the Night Wolves rivaled that of our father according to what Dillon witnessed. He went rabid. Attacking Christine’s accomplice and freeing him and several Night Wolves before they can subdue him. His sudden attack unleashed a power in him that scared even Christine. I will never forget the looks on their faces that day, when Walden was unleashed and Dillon, me, and several Night Wolves fell through that portal separating each of us at different times within the Forbidden Forest, The Dark Woods, Badlands, and The Outskirts. I would never forget the excruciating pain that followed for an entire month after that. Every night, at the same time as the night of our tenth birthday, I felt my brother's pain. That month was a terror to us both, but I was even more terrified when I could no longer feel Walden’s presence after that month passed and the bond we shared had broken. After years of thinking my brother had died, the letters appeared with the details of what I had missed. This accomplice was even capable of hiding himself from a spell of this extent. He had helped Christine exclusively, but what did he gain by helping her do all these things? Soon Walden’s memories would be regained and the answer to that question would hopefully be revealed. The bond we shared was returning, it was only now that I realized that it had only been suppressed. I felt Bo’s presence before our hands intertwined. Some of my anxiousness must have spilled over to her. Having her near with her wonderful scent calmed me. I looked down at her and she nodded. She had completed her part of the plan. Now we had to wait. A long-awaited reunion.
