Chapter 5- Should Of Known Better
*Alexas POV*
“Lexi you look fine stop stressing” Kayla groaned. She had come over in a attempt to help me get ready, which ended with me having a complete meltdown. I was pacing the floor in my room, if I carried on I’m pretty sure the floor would cave in.
“Lexi!” Kayla shouted, trying to catch my attention, her eyes swimming with concern. She grabbed my shoulders and shook me.
“What’s going on? Do I need to call Asher?” She pleaded, my body tightens at the mention of his name,“You haven’t said a word in like 2 hours, you look like your about to cry and I don’t know what to do if you don’t tell me”. All I wanted to do was tell her, that the thought of seeing Asher and Willow together made me physically sick. But instead I swallowed everything I wanted to stay, and replaced it with what I was trying to persuade myself.
“I’m fine, just nervous” I explained, I wasn’t necessarily lying but I wasn’t tell the truth either. I was only going tonight to make Myles happy, otherwise I would of happily stayed at home studying.
“It’s going to be fine, your going to be fine” she tryed her best to reassure me but it did nothing, my whole body was riddled with fear.
I looked at myself in the mirror one more time. I was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans with a red crop top and leather jacket with a pair of Jordan’s. Kaylas had curled my hair for me and let it hung of my shoulders.
“Let’s go downstairs before Myles loses it” Kayla joked, standing up and grabbing my hand. She led me out my room and downstairs where Myles and mum were waiting, mum looked my outfit up and down but didn’t say anything. We walked out to the car and Myles slid into the passenger seat, while me and Kayla got comfortable in the back. Mum pulled off and Myles and Kayla erupted into conversation about school. I tryed my best to involve myself but my nerves got the best of me and I ended up sitting in silence for the rest of the car journey.
When we arrived, we said goodbye to my mum and arranged a time to be picked up. Kayla and Myles ran off and I trailed behind, taking my time and regretting choosing to come. I know I was only here for Myles, but forcing myself to be in the same room as Asher and Willow, now that was the ultimate torture. When I finally got throughly the doors, both groups had assembled in the middle, everyone in conversation. I stood awkwardly to the sides rubbing my arms subconsciously, my eyes explored all the flashing arcade signs.
“Lexapedia”. My eyes instantly flickered to the warm familiar voice, my body relaxing ever so slightly until I saw who was stood next to him, Willow who was so desperately clinging on to Asher’s arm, how pathetic.
“Asher. Willow” I stated bluntly, I saw a flicker of pain fall over his face before he smiled again.
“Lexi!” Dylan called, rushing over to me, if I was ever grateful for Dylan it was in this very moment. I beamed at him, Asher’s smile doing a 180 and glared into him, not that Dylan had even noticed as he was grinning at me.
“You look amazing! Are you ready?” He smiled, offering me a hand which I willingly took. He pulled me away and I’m pretty sure I saw Asher ball his fists. He pulled me away from them effortlessly, dragging me to the bowling alley we’re Myles and Ella were already inserting our nicknames into the scoreboard.
“Your up first Alexa” Ella beamed, and i grimaced slightly at the use of my full name. My dad was the only one who used to call me Alexa, which was odd seeing how that was my birth name, everyone always called me Lexi or Lex. Dad wanted to call me Alexa, apparently it means ‘defender of man’ and I was his little warrior.
“Call her Lexi” Myles quickly corrected her, noticing my discomfort. I send him a small smile before going up to pick a ball, I stand their for a minute weighing the balls to find the right one. When I did I sent it flying down the alley, imagining Willows face as the pins as they all crashed down. Everyone behind me cheered but I stood frozen in anger, I could hear her laughter all the way at our lane causing my blood to boil. I sat down quietly the majority of the game, getting up to throw my ball when it was my turn, sometimes with so much anger the ball could of dented the floor. On my last go her voice ring through my skull, and i couldn’t help but roll my eyes. Her voice made me feel sick, everything in my stomach turning to acid.
“I’m going to the bathroom” I snap, storming away. My feet were thinking for me and instead of taking me to where I was supposed to go they walked me directly out the entrance. I began running, diving around the nearest corner and throwing up my entire breakfast. Every thought causing me to gag again, my throat burning and the scent making it all feel worse.
“Lexapedia?”
I felt a warm hand brush my cheeks as the swept the strands of hair from my face and holding it back for me. As much as I wanted to hate him with every breath in my body my body likes to betray me, every part of me wanted him. Every part.
“Are you okay? I saw you run out and wanted to check up on you” he sighed, I managed to stop myself from gaging again. Turning my head so I could see him, his face was plastered in worry.
“I’m fine” I muttered, lying to myself and to him.
“I know when your lying Lexapedia” he sighed, letting go of my hair so that I could straighten myself up.
“How do you apparently know that I’m lying ” I snapped, my eyes narrowing.
“You can never look me in the eyes, your voice goes squeaky and you start shuffling on the spot. You also do this really cute thing where you bite your bottom lip when your nervous” he smirked, leaning against the wall and staring at me. I fidgeted uncomfortably on the spot, okay so maybe he does know when I’m lying.
“That’s so not true!” I squeaked, even my voice was betraying me.
“You are so bad at lying Lexapedia” he chuckled.
“Okay so I’m not okay but that is none of your concern” I sighed, turning to walk away before I felt a grip on my wrist tugging me back.
“Talk to me please” he begged, looking at me longingly.
“And why should I Asher? Why should I talk to you about anything?” I chocked, my eyes stinging and I tried to blink back tears.
“Your the reason I’m here Lexapedia! Do you think I want to see Dylan fawning all over you? Do you think I want to be here with that vile excuse of a human being? If you hadn’t said it was okay bailing we would be at home in your room studying! Or trying to study at very least” he smirked the last part, my whole body sent into tingles at the thought of us alone in my room.
“Get your head out of the gutter Ash!”
“You put it there” he grinned, I hadn’t realised he still had a hold on my wrist until he pulled me towards him, I crashed into his chest. He carefully placed two fingers under my chin and lifted my head so I was looking up at him. My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest as he leant into kiss me, I was close to leaning in to meet him before I froze.
“I’ve enjoy thrown up this is a bad idea” I joked trying to stop this situation.
“I don’t care” he whispered, his hot breath warming my face. Then I practically threw myself at him, our lips colliding in a hot passionate kiss, his teeth feasting my bottom lip and I let out a unexpected moan. When we pulled apart for a breath he placed his forehead to mine.
“You are mine Lexapedia, I don’t want to see anyone else’s even so much as touch you. You are mine” he groaned, his eyes fluttering shut.
“But-“I began just to be cut of instantly.
“No buts, you are mine Alexa” he whispered and my body felt like I was floating on air.
“Say it” he begged, as if me agreeing was the only thing that mattered to him.
“I am yours” i murmur, the moment I had finished he had closed the distance between our lips once again. But this time it was slow and sweet, our lips moving in sync with each other like it was muscle memory.
“Where are they” Myles voice rang from around the corner and we instantly sprung apart.
“Lean over and act like you’ve just been sick” Asher muttered before calling out. I hunched myself over trying my best to look as if I had just finished vomiting. Thank god I took drama.
“We’re over here!” I heard a rush of footsteps towards us then a crowd of people appeared.
“Lexi!” Myles shouted rushing towards my side, placing his hand on my back and rubbing in circle motion as if trying to comfort me.
“I came outside and found her like this” Asher lied.
“Are you okay?” Myles questioned, I lifted my head up to look at him.
“I must of ate something bad at lunch, I’ll be fine” I sighed giving his arm a reassuring squeeze. A loud car horn startled us all and we turned to see mum parked up in the pick up spot and I had never been more relieved to see her.
“Let’s get you home” Myles smiled, taking my hand and walking with me towards the car.
“Is it alright if i come? I just want to know she’s okay” Asher asked, following closely behind us. I took a sharp breath of shock and tried to disguise it with a cough.
“Ofcourse Ash, you don’t have to ask to come over” laughed Myles, pulling open the back seat for me to climb straight in. I threw him a smile and climbed in followed by Asher, closing it behind him. He grasped my hand the moment we were in the car, he grip firm and tight as if I was going to slip away. I squeezed his hand reassuringly, he pushed himself into the middle seat and I laid my head on his shoulder and my eyes flutter closed.
I woke up to the familiar smell of citrus and woods and I felt my head lead on someone’s lap. I kept my eyes glued tightly shut, taking in this one moment of complete bliss, everything felt so insignificant. Was this what it would feel like waking up to him every morning? Feeling complete serene and safe and indestructible just by being near him, my body craved his touch. I was to scared to open my eyes in the thought of not being the only 2 in the room. A hand swept gently over my hair, I opened my eyes to see Asher smiling down at me. I heard a loud snore echo through the room filling the silence, I tilted my head slightly to see Myles asleep in one of the beanbags, curled up peacefully. I turned back to Asher who was still beaming down at me.
“It’s like 2am what you doing up princess?”He whispered softly, brushing a hair from my cheek.
“I could ask why your still here” i yawned, stretching myself out before curling back up.
“I wasn’t just going to leave you Lexapedia, I could never leave you” he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. I pulled myself up from where I was and crawled on top of him and wrapped myself around him. He cradled me in his arms, soothing my back as I rested my head on his chest.
“He will kill us when he wakes up” he chuckled quietly.
“Who cares I’m happy” I muttered, closing my eyes and breathing in his sweet scent. I fell asleep nestled up next to him, our body’s fitting together perfectly.
“Wake up you two were going to be late!” shrieked Myles, lobbing a pillow straight into Ashers face. We woke up startled, our body’s still entwined together. He looked down at me smirking as Myles rushed upstairs out of the den leaving us alone.
“Morning Lexapedia” he yawned, my eyes roamed his body before they focused on his firm member pressing against his jeans.
“Morning Ash” I whispered, my eyes flickering back to his face that was plastered with a grin.
“My eyes are here Lexapedia” he muttered, I didn’t realise until now how sexy his morning voice was and my cheeks filled red. I peeled myself off of him reluctantly and stood up and rushing from the room. I ran straight upstairs to my bedroom trying to avoid everyone. As soon as I was in I slammed the door and ran straight to my bathroom. I quickly undressed and threw myself into the shower, washing as fast as I could before hoping out and wrapping a towel around my body. As I opened the door I was met with bright green eyes.
“What are you doing in here!” I yelled, clutching on to the towel as he stood shocked, his eyes exploring my body that was still dripping.
“I needed a-“
“GET OUT!” I yelled, shoving him out of my room as he laughed. Once the door was slammed in his face, I turned and started getting dressed. I chose a blue floral summer dress that reached just above my knees paired with a denim jacket. I grabbed my bag from just by the door and raced downstairs where Myles and Asher were waiting by the door.
