Raven's Twilight

Ch. 9

Lunch.

It was finally here and boy was Raven not looking forward to explaining to the Cullen's about a gift she has no idea how she got.

What was she suppose to tell them?

Oh, hey, I don't know HOW I got the gift. I just woke up one day and had the ability to make others do as I please.

Even SHE would want to know more about her gift, hell, she NEEDS to know more. When she first realized she could make people do whatever she wanted them too it scared the hell out of her. She didn't know what to do. She thought about telling someone but she felt that they would report her and she'd either be thrown in a mental asylum or dissected like a new science project.

"Are you alright?" Bella asked her.

Raven looked over at her sister and nodded,"I'm fine. I just - I don't know what to tell them. How am I suppose to explain my ability if I, MYSELF, don't know HOW I got it?"

Bella sighs and places a hand on Ravens arm,"If you want me to come with you...I will."

Raven offers her a smile,"Thank you but I can do this." She says as they enter the lunch room.

Raven looks around until her eyes fall into the Cullen's who were staring at her. She knew that they we're waiting for her. So, with a sigh, she makes her way over,"Outside. I don't want to risk anyone over hearing us." She says as she moves past them and out into the student parking lot.

She continued walking until she was out in the woods, far enough that no student or teacher would see them,"You have questions, I know that, but before you ask me anything just know that I am as clueless about this as you are." She says, turning to face them.

"What do you mean?" Alice questioned.

"I mean I only learned I had this ability yesterday. I know no more than any of you do." She says.

"So, You have the ability to control anyone you want?" Rosalie questioned.

Raven nods,"Yes."

"Cool! Try it out on me!" Emmett boomed.

Raven looked to Rosalie for permission,"It's his choice." She says.

"What would you have him do?" She questioned Rosalie.

She thought for a few seconds before a smile broke out on her face and she appeared beside Raven and whispered something in her ear. Raven looked at her,"Are you sure?" She asked her.

Rosalie nods,"I'm sure." She says.

"Okay." She turns her gaze onto Emmett,"Run home and put on her brightest lipstick and paint your nails black." She says.

Emmett glared at his wife,"Why you -" he couldn't finish his sentence because he was already running home.

"He's going to make you pay for that, Rose." Alice says with a smile,"Big time."

Rosalie shrugged,"He'll get over it." She says.

Raven smiled before turning her gaze on Edward and Alice,"I do apologize for yesterday. I had no right to do what I did." She says,"I'm just not a fan of the hospital. There are things about me that they won't understand and I can't have them reporting me. I'm not looking to be some lab rat for the government to dissect all day everyday."

"What would they report about you?" Jasper questioned.

"Though I am human, I have the ability to heal quicker than any human. The healing depends on the injury. If I broke my arm it would take about a week or less to heal or if I got a scar it would heal in less than a day."

"What if you had a serious head injury? How long would that take?" Jasper questioned.

"Maybe a week or two, maybe more. Like I said it depends on how serious the injury is."

"How -"

"Rosalie!" Emmett voice sounded from behind them. Rosalie was beside Raven one second and beside Edward the next,"You will pay for this!" He appeared in front of them with a bright red lipstick and red fingernails.

Raven fought back her laughter but the longer she looked at him the harder it became,"Oh my God! I'm so sorry! Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" She laughed out loud,"You - look - So - CUTE!" She laughs.

Emmett glared at her,"Oh, You think this is funny!? You're so lucky that Edward is smitten with you or I would chew off your fingers and feed them to you!" He hissed.

Raven, not really listening to what he had said, laughed harder,"You're so adorable!"

Her laughter died down after another three minutes of laughing out loud and her stomach cramping up.

She wiped at her eyes before taking a deep breath and calming herself,"Oh, wow, that was a great laugh!" She says with a smile.

"Ha. Ha. I'm glad you find me so amusing." Emmett spat.

"Hey, don't blame me. You asked and Rose gave me the order." She says,"I was doing as I was asked." She says before turning her gaze to Edward,"Do you have any more questions?"

"You're adopted that much me know." He say,"So, do you know anything about your biological parents?" He asked.

Raven shook her head,"No. Charlie and Renee have been my parents since I was seven years old. I know nothing about the people who conceived me nor do I have any desire to know who they are."

"Why not?" Alice questioned.

"They gave me up without giving any explanation." She says, "They just left me on their front porch with a locket that had a picture of them both. They no longer wanted me and now I no longer have the desire to see them again."

Alice went to speak but Raven stopped her,"You're family is different than anyone I've ever met." She states,"You're all adopted and yet you share many of the same characteristics."

"What are you getting at?" Edward questioned.

Raven took a deep breath and let it out,"If I am right, which I hope and pray that I am, you're vampires." She says,"You're vampires that don't feed off humans. It would explain the coloration of your eyes."

Edward glanced around at his siblings then met her gaze,"If what you say is true, If you believe that, why are you not running away screaming? Why are you still standing here?"

Raven smiles over at him,"I'm human and I can force people to do whatever I want and I can heal myself at an abnormal rate...who am I to judge you and your family?" She says moving closer until she was standing directly in front of him, tilting her head up a bit to look at him.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, Cullen, but I take the award for being the biggest ball of weird home." She says patting his arm,"Maybe next year you'll win." She says.

Edward chuckled as He gazes down at her,"You really are something." He says,"You're not like any human or vampire I've ever met."

Raven smiles and playfully punches him in the arm,"I'll take that as a compliment, Cullen."

He smiles,"You would, Ms. Swan."
