He shrugged. “Numbers—unless it be the number of drinks available—have as little meaning here as do names. I did not make note of the address.”
“Will you take me to it, then?”
“Not necessary. If you walk to the next street and turn left, you cannot miss it. The street is full of shops except for this one building of offices.”
“How’d you find out about it?”
“It seems that when it appeared that Jimmy had come into some money, one of our local citizens noticed him going off every day and followed him a few times, thinking that he might find the source of Jimmy’s affluence.”
“Did he find out where Jimmy went in the building?”
“No. I believe he tried, but wherever he asked questions he was hurriedly ejected. He soon lost his enthusiasm for the project.”
