Standing outside the secure door, Marcus thinks of how he has to approach his next request. “I need to work on the drive we found. Do you want to go rest?” Marcus did not want to send her away but knew that he needed to focus on identifying the threat after his mate and determine if they were still a threat. When she was near him he had trouble focusing on anything else and Dax made it even worse. All he wanted to do was pull her into his arms and claim her for all to see. With her in another part of the house, he could work at full speed and get back to her side where he needed to be.
