Embrace

Angel His entire being is otherworldly. Crimson almond eyes pierce themselves onto the man before us making wish they were upon me. Those burnt rose color lips stand against his pale skin. Dark hair the color of a dead rose hangs loosely around his ears and brows very shaggy like. Broad shoulders cut me off from the man behind me. Breathing in that same honey and raspberry smell comes full force with a hint of pine. It’s all so consuming, alluring. My heart pounds at the very sight of this man. Much like a dream to be seeing him in reality. Neither one of them have the courage to speak. The dark hair man just watches him with the uttermost hateful look. The man before me growls low, the very aura around tinging with the unsaid warning. Finally, the man at fault drops his eyes and a sly smile breaks out of my mystery man's lips. Casting his eyes down upon the man, he tilts his chin nigh, shoulders broad. “Leave then. Get your friend back there and get out.” The tone in this mystery mans voice leaves no room for debate. There is an underlying tone almost murderous. My face turns back up to his eyes, I watch as they change colors. Crimson, scarlet, rose, and ruby swirl within those orbs. Like magic they show a unique color but as fierce as fire. Fire that sets something inside ablaze, much like the fire that begun at the mansion. It’s not until those men shuffle off that those glowing orbs turn to me, stealing whatever breath remains within my chest. My senses buzz with him beside me, as the wind blows my hair floats around my face in his direction. His jaw stays tense, gently he brings a hand up to my hair, pulling a leaf from it. The beautiful color standing out against snow white skin. “Thank you.” I breathe, not knowing what to really thank him for more. His jaw stays shut, as if a wire now winds its way arounf those perfect lips, by a miracle it opens. “Of course." We stand there, inches apart, not wanting to pull away. Everything in me screams to reach out to touch him. It has to be him, those eyes look just like the ones that have burned themselves into my brain. Even if it was all I saw, the same energy that pulls me is anchoring me down to this spot. That delicious scent sinking into my lungs to burrow within my walls. I can't think of anything else that would tell me otherwise this is not him. This has to be him. His voice breaks me out of my trance. “You shouldn’t be out here alone.” My eyes stay on those crimson ones, not wanting to look away for a second. “Why?” The side of his mouth twitches. “There’s worse things in these woods at night.” “Worse than two men waiting in the dark?” I try to joke, but it comes out more of a whisper. He leans in close to my ear, his breath tickling the side of my face. “Much worse.” Chills run over my body deliciously. The same raspberry scent stirring up the heat within. He was so close, all it would take is for my head to turn and brush against his lips. To my surprise he shivers then pulls away. “Cold?” I ask, not wanting to end things here. He sits back on his heels shoving gloved hands into his pockets. “Not at all.” My heart quickens, worried he will vanish before my very eyes. Vanish just like he had within the Mors mansion. My heart soars the moment he nods his head in the direction of the campsite. “Shall we?” Finally, my anchor legs allow me to move with him. As if the very words he spoke were the exact spell to move my stone body. Slowly we begin walking down the trail. A silence settling between us, beconing the other to fill it. It’s my voice who breaks the silence, “Are you staying at a campsite nearby?” He shakes his head, that dark red hair moving with each motion. “No,” He looks to contemplate, then asks, “Are you the camping type?” “Oh, no. Not at all.” Tucking a lock behind my ear I add, “My cousin and his finance were planning that and I kind of tagged along. None of us are really the camping type.” He turns his sights on me. “Cabin?” “Yep, one of the last ones.” It’s astonishing how my mouth answers before my head does. Under no circumstances should I be answering his questions. Even if he is the one who came to my rescue with those men. My interest peaks when I question him further, “Are you visiting a friend back here?” He shakes his head once more. “No, all my friends are at the fairgrounds.” I take note of the information, cataloging the precious data away for another time. A time when I too shall be at the fairgrouds if I'd ever need to find him. “Do you live around here?” The mystery of a man mostions in a general direction. One where it is all dark woods. “A couple of miles out.” He answers quickly before shooting off his own question. “How long are you visiting for?” Lie, the rational part of my brain screams. Lie because you do not know this man. Because this is dangerous. But something else takes that over completely ignoring any plea that part has. A sensation so gut wrenchingly delirious swells inside, tackling all sense my brain usually has. “Two weeks. So right after all hallows eve.” His eyes look to shine at that. Ever so slightly he takes a step closer to me until our arms barely brush one another. The buzz between us fills the air. The very sound of the trees wrestling quiet to our time spent together. Still, something gnaws at the back of my mind. Wanting me to pull all the answers from this mystery man. “So, no friends back here and you live in town. Why then are you out here?” The delusional part of my brain sings for it to be because of me. That he is the very being sent from the Heavens just for me. That's why those vision came to me so strongly. The logical part of my brain that actually works knows that only happens within the pages of my books. No matter how much I hope, he is not the bain here for me. Just a lucky drawl in the hand usually short. We stop then on the edge of the path where the woods thin and campsites are in sight. His smile is dangerous, but where the other men had me prickling with venom, he has my skin buzzing with something entirely different. “Maybe I am here for you.” The sensible part of my brain battles with the desirable part of my brain. Both scream at one another, neither one backing down. He had spoken the very words the delusional part longs to hear. The words spoken in every single love stricken novel my eyes devour. My entire being trembles, desperately fighting off the want to touch him. That wants turning from a want into a need. It's stupid really, downright delusional of me. Still, I sense no lie. With the end of everything so close my body makes the decision itself. Completely unlike anything I’ve done before, I take a step until my neck is straining to look at him. Reaching up to his face, he stills. Gently, my fingers grasp a loose strand of his hair and tuck it behind his ear. My skin blazes from the contact against his skin. Even his breath catches between us. “Are you the thing in the dark I should fear?” I whisper. Those red eyes flare, a small growl escapes his lips. On instinct his leather glove grasps my arm pulling me in close. A dangerous smile comes over his lips, his voice smooth as honey as he replies, “I am the thing in the dark that everyone should fear.” Carefully he brings my hand to his mouth. Cool lips melt against my flesh, a chill runs down my spine quickening my heart rate. Opening his mouth he bites down gently on my finger then runs his hot tongue over the area. It takes everything in me not to groan at the action, heat instantly pulls somewhere deep within. Just as quick as he drops my hand and steps back all together. The chilly night air douses the fire within. “Get back safe.” Then, just like he came, he disappears between one blink and the next. Causing my head to spin and my heart to hammer in my throat.
