Cold Summer

Astar I loathe any form of touch, especially if I’m not the one to initiate. Even when I feed I keep them a reasonable distance and drop their bodies immediately. Not wanting anything to linger on my skin for too long. Yet, the moment she took that step towards me I should have known this fight was futile. Everything about the Angel before me draws me in. So it is to no surprise when my entire body stills from her nearness. That intoxicating scent shooting bolts of pleasure through my chest. Too gently for a monster like me this creature smooths her fingers through my hair tucking my own lock behind my ear. As her skin runs over mine all sanity drifts from my mind. At this moment in time all that is here is her and I. Cool wind swirls around us blazing her skin hotter against mine stirring the inferno building within myself. The beast burning within, screeching for release. To keep the growl down I suck in a breath. The action only burns her scent deep within my cells. Angel’s golden eyes sink me into them, downing me below the shimmering waves. Her plump lips whisper between us,” Are you the thing in the dark I should fear?” My eyes flare down upon her haunting beauty. The beast within raging to take her, claim her on this night. She is mine, mine, mine. All sense leaves my mind besides the feral instincts within to touch her, bite her, claim her. Growling, my hand reaches out to grasp her arm, pulling the creature close to my face, our breaths mingling. I should sooth her, show her that with me here there is no reason to fear what lurks in the dark. However, I am the ruler of these lands. I am the demon within the dark waiting to prey upon her. The beast within grins with the want to show her what we are capable of. Keeping my voice smooth as honey, I reply, “I am the thing in the dark everyone should fear.” I carefully bring her hand up to my lips, my burning eyes never leaving her gaze. Hot skin burns against my lips, fangs readying to mark her. The beast pleading within me to bite her, claim her. Opening my mouth, her finger slid over my teeth. Delicious flesh molding against my fangs perfectly, too perfectly, like this is meant to be. But not here, I wouldn't want her first time with me to be here on this dirty path. Releasing her finger, my tongue snakes out to sooth the area. Angel’s pulse quickens within her veins, those golden eyes rolling back slightly, the smallest of a moan escaping her lips. It takes everything, every single fiber of my being, to drop her and step away. We roar within, claws and teeth bearing themselves, readying to tear apart my own self. The words are a war to breathe out. “Get back safe.” Before my body allows me to steal this woman away within the night, I disappear into the tree line. Desperately breathing in fresh chilly air. The roar within me does nothing to douse whatever fire she has lit. The scent of her still upon my clothes. I slam my head back into the tree to knock some sense into myself. My beast tares his nails into any crevice he can find. Follow her, my mind shrieks. Ripping myself to my feet they stumble forward. Go, the beast demands. Shoving myself back into the tree, my body collides miserably with the lumber. No, if I was to follow her now the ending would be dooming. The taste of her blood already waiting to spew over my tongue, fangs gleaming to mark her. But she is alive, crimson blood pumps through those veins. She is without a doubt utterly human. There is no reason my body should crave a human woman this way. This entire ordeal is damning, if I were to bound myself to a human I might as well condemn myself to the crucifix. Even with the logic spinning in my head, I cannot contradict the reaction of my body. Every single dead cell within this corpse vibrates with want. The need to be near her is too great to keep at bay. Sharp teeth sink into my cheek spilling dead blood down my throat. The very fangs that crave the taste of her flesh. I need to ground myself to get back to reality. No human on earth could have this effect on me. Nearly three centuries have come and gone with not a single soul affecting me in this distasteful way. Yet, those eyes were another color completely. No human on this earth has eyes the color of liquid gold, at least not one that is completely human. My mind whirls with the need to study this creature, to discover what she is and who she came with. Inhaling deeply, her sweet scent swirls once more through my body. That scent is enough to have me transforming into another skin to follow. This time, with no fear of unknown predators, my eyes watch everything she does. The way she walks is unnatural, more like a creature of the night. Angel does not falter, she does not stumble like other humans, not even a slight limp or favor of another foot. Every motion is pure liquid following easily. Nothing graces over her mind to even halter. A cabin on the side of the woods resides deep within the trees. One that is too easily accessible by the creatures of the night. It is the farthest one away from all prying eyes and too close to my territory. The thought of another blood sucker sipping even a single drop of her blood brings on a murderous rage. Dropping down low through the tree’s my feet carry me the rest of the way on foot. Scarlet eyes tracking her movements the entire way. As if still feeling my presence she glances back, eyes searching for what she knows to be here. Those golden eyes almost find mine within the dark. Slipping behind a tree, I scale it for higher ground, perching myself on a ledge too high for her view. Even from here I see those golden hue’s trying to see through the trees. This Angel’s senses are extraordinary, either that or we truly are meant to be bound to one another. Quickly, the mortal enters the cabin. The slam is enough to rattle my teeth. Did she honestly think the wooden door could stop anything as dangerous as me? Laughable, really. Light as air, my body flows through the trees with ease. I land on the roof of the cabin beside a window. My fingers make their way to open the contaction when the light from the hallway shines in. Stoping the action I sink back into the darkness. Angel shuffles through the dark room flipping the tableside lamp on. The blinds open wide for me to see everything. Angel places a hot mug of something steaing down on the table. She looks to do circles while collecting an assortment of random things before walking to where I can’t see. Circling the wooden cabin does nothing to help my sight. The only window above being the one to her room. For a split second my mind contemplates entering the old place until she returns back into my sight. My body relaxes just at the sight of her. The night clothes upon her skin are nothing special, simple striped shorts and a black long sleeve shirt. Even with the simplicity of the outfit my being still erupts with want. Fire builds at the center of my core stirring below. Angel rounds the bed once more, tucking clothes into a dark sack. My head turns the moment she bends over, the beast within shouting his displeasure. After a moment's calmness my eyes return back to the being within the wooden room. She sips from her cup below the covers, a book in hand. I stay there hours into the night. Even when those she is with returns. A couple hand in hand walk down the rocky driveway without a care in the world. Both look to be slightly under the influence. “Do you think your cousin is asleep?” The girl asks loudly. Her mate shrugs as they walk up the entryway of the cabin. “Probably, so try to keep it down.” They enter the cabin as quietly as they could. Stumbling slightly and turning on too many lights. I sniff the air, serching for any reason as to why her scent could attract me so much. But nothing of interest comes from either one. They both smell completley human. How peculiar. Eventually, they too turn in for the night. I sit there until late at night. A small ping comes to my phone. Draven: Have you found anything yet? My eyes blink down upon the preposterous message. Of course I wouldn’t have found anything yet. This distraction of a woman has me following her around- The thought slams me into a wall. Distraction. This was a blatant distraction. Most likely none other than from that wench of a mother. She loves her games, and oh how I did fall feeble to the little trick she sent my way. Rage pounds deep within myself. Rage from this dame who tempts me. My corpse moves before the plan is fully thought through. Within seconds I stand next to her bed, the Angel within the sheets already within a deep slumber. Delicately my fingers ghost over the curve of her cheeks. The moonlight reflecting her own beaty back up to me. Distraction, the rational parts of my brain whisper. Oh how easy it would be to snap her neck, drain every single drop from this delicate body. Despite the beast within me screeching for the life of this creature to continue. To be bound with her over killing the only being to make my dead heart swoon. At this moment, those rational thoughts take over. Easily the leather gloves slip off my hands. If I am to kill this being then I shall feel everything within her.
