Mother Duan is a loving woman, but she was unyielding towards the previous owner of this body because he tried to harm his own brother several times. If not for her, he would have caused even more trouble for Han Liang. 

Although she was the biological mother of Han Shaoyan and Han Liang was an orphan they raised, this fact never clouded her judgment. In her eyes, they both were her children, and if they did something wrong, she always disciplined them equally.

But in Han Shaoyan's eyes, even his real mother favored an orphan over him. So he tried to take revenge on Han Liang, and with time, Han Shaoyan's personality became totally crooked.

When they entered the garden, Han Shaoyan couldn't help but look around. Even if he had memories, seeing with his own eyes gave a totally different feeling. 

There were two rows of plants that led to a pavilion. Light green plants with bright red flowers paved their way. Surrounding bushes were full of life and different flowers.

Han Shaoyan followed his mother and sat next to her in the pavilion. He knew that the sudden change in his personality was too shocking for his family. His mother wants to find out if it was because there is a big problem caused by him.

Well, he can't really blame anyone for being so suspicious. According to the demeanor of the original owner, it was the most possible explanation for his personality change. 

"Mom, I know what you want to ask me, but don't worry. Everything is fine. I am not planning anything against my brother, nor I've made any unforgivable mistake. I just want to live happily with all of you. 

I'm sorry for my past behavior. You can take it as my jealousy for elder brother. He is good at everything, so I always felt inferior to him. But now, I don't want to compete with him; I've realized that fighting with him would only cause our whole family to suffer."

Han Shaoyan held his mother's hand and expressed his feelings. What he said was the truth. Although the original owner did many bad things, in his heart, he was a child throwing tantrums for being neglected by his family.

Li Duan looked towards Han Shaoyan, definitely not buying his nonsense. It was just too sudden for her. There was no way he could've turned into a new leaf, just in a day.

"Just yesterday, you tried to trip your brother from the stairs, but today you're saying that you only want to live peacefully? How many times did you try this same trick on us? Do you think we don't have brains in our heads?"

Han Shaoyan totally did not expect this outcome. In his past life, whenever he admitted his wrongdoings and expressed them with slight regret, his mother would forgive him just in a minute. 

But because of the original owners' shitty personality, Li Duan got totally immune to it! 

Han Shaoyan felt a little helpless and tried to find the solution to this problem. He wanted to change his impression for two reasons. One- He could live a peaceful life. 2- If one day the original owner got this body back, he could avoid his death and live a happy life. 

He thought for a few seconds to come up with a solution. It was not really hard for him. While facing his family, he never felt any pressure from them. So in this life, even if they were skeptical about him, he could always think of a way to clear their doubt.

Han Shaoyan got up and sat on the floor. He set his head on his mother's lap and closed his eyes. His sudden action left Li Duan dumbfounded. 

From the time Han Shaoyan was a child, he was gloomy. He threw tantrums whenever he saw Li Duan was treating Han Liang as her son. It slowly caused a rift between him and other family members. So for him to open up his heart like this was really surprising for her. 

Without even realizing it, she stroked his hair. 

 Han Shaoyan knew that it was his chance. Although his following words were not entirely true, they were still honest. 

"Mom, last night I had a dream. In that dream, we were not royals; nor I was your son. I was an orphan adopted by you and dad. While elder brother was your real son and my younger brother. In that dream, you treated me just like the way you treat him now. 

Even so, he was not jealous of me. He always respected me and accepted me as his real brother. Even when dad decided on me as his heir, brother was happy for me. I really felt peaceful and satisfied in that dream, even though I was not really your blood. 

But then, I got sick and only had a few years to live. At that time, I saw you all getting worried for me and trying hard to keep me happy. I still died at the end, but when I was dying, I realized. 

Nothing else really matters if I have got a good family. That's why I only regretted not being able to live with you all for more time. 

When I woke up, I thought for a long time and understood how wrong I'd been these all years. Big brother's whole family is dead. He doesn't have anyone else to rely on. Even if I had hurt him numerous times, he never did the same to me. 

Mom, I know I was wrong. You don't have to believe me right away. Just give me a chance to prove myself. I want to help big brother as any younger brother would, and I also want to make you & dad proud.

Do you think I can do this?"

After chattering for a long time, Han Shaoyan finally looked up. Only to see his mother's wet eyes. He did not expect that he would make her cry. He immediately got up and wiped her eyes with a tissue. 

"Yes. You certainly can. I trust you, Xiao Yan."

His mother answered him sincerely.
