I sat on the boulder. Alexis is mock fighting the trainees while David and Tarrant are talking. General Hera and her group are practicing themselves. I sighed, a little annoyed at the amount of magic I am seeing. Throughout the day the magic has been getting stronger without showing a reason why. I don't like it. "Commander, is something bothering you?" General Hera asked.
"The magic, it's building up." I replied.
"Should I warn the others?" She asked, worry lacing her voice.
"No, no, there's no threat. It's just...odd." I answered. The magic circled around me in different colors, ranging from black to yellow and anything you can think of. Beautiful really, yet confusing. "Just odd." I muttered.
The magic suddenly began to become one thing. A large ball of light. My eyes widen in surprise. "Commander, what is it?" General Hera asked. I didn't get a chance to answer. The magic became so bright and then exploded. I went backwards of the boulder, landing head first onto the ground. "COMMANDER!"
"Who the bloody hell is that?" Tarrant shouted. I groaned in pain. I rolled to my side and paused as I felt the blood soaking my hair. I opened my eyes but everything is so bright, forcing me to close them once more.
"Commander, I need you to open your eyes." General Hera said.
"Too bright. Hurts to open them." I muttered.
"What happened?" David asked.
"She fell backwards as soon as the lady appeared. She can't open her eyes. She says it is too bright for her." General Hera explained. "She cracked the back of her head open too."
"Bloody hell. I can easily heal her wound, but I have no clue what to do for her eyes." I felt David's magic heal the wound rather quickly. "Alright, sit up, Evie." David ordered. Keeping my eyes closed, I slowly sat up. "Does anyone have a cloth I can use."
"Use this sash. It will help her." The sash got tied around my eyes. I thought back to when I lost my sight and saw magic for the first time. This is something I do not enjoy. Who would?
"I apologize for causing yourself to get hurt. I thought that I would make an appearance though. I am known as Lady Magic." A soft woman spoke. I sighed. Well, at least that explains one thing. Now how am I going to see? She is magic and the aura will be too bright. "I can sense your distress. No worries though, I have now put a veil over your eyes so the magic does not hinder your sight. Take the sash off, my child." I took the sash off and opened my eyes. I sighed in relief. I looked at Lady Magic and pointed an accusing finger at her.
"That was mean!" I declared childishly. She laughed. Funny enough, it sounded like jingle bells. I looked at her oddly before shaking my head. "You are mean. The most you could have done is give me a warning!"
"I could have, but that ruins the fun of a friendly banter." She giggled. I narrowed my eyes at her. "Oh come off of it. The last time I spoke to you was in a dream before all this begun, remember?" She asked. "Now, here we stand acting like we knew each other for many years. By the way, your future is looking wonderful and full of kids!" I snorted. "What?"
"You are crazy, I hope you know that." I said.
"Well, everyone has to be a little crazy sometimes. You would agree." She said, hinting at the way I get during battle.
"That's beyond the point, crazy lady. " I muttered. "Wait, why are you even here? You wouldn't normally do this."
"At least from the books that you read. Last time I did this, it was for Merlin." She said.
"He existed!" I exclaimed.
"In your world, yes. That's a story for another time though. I am here because I've decided to help you out! I do love to have fun from time to time." She said.
"I can think of many other ways to have fun." I smirked when she glowered at me. "Perhaps that's what needs to happen."
"Not funny." She said.
"I thought it was. Anyways, what's your plan. How long do you plan on staying around?" I asked her.
"Shall we go into your tent and talk more privately?" Lady Magic asked.
"Of course, madam, right this way." I walked into the tent and sat down. She sat across from me. "How long do you plan on staying?" I asked again.
"Until the final battle. Up until that moment is when I will stay. You are doing well with your leading. Some unexpected twist and turns you have made for me, along with my sisters." She said.
"Your sisters?" I inquired.
"Of course, my sisters. Death, Fate, Love, you know, my sisters. Fate seems to like you rather well. Love says you are hard to work with but it ends up being worth it and Death, well she is a little annoyed. You killed a lot of people that gave her amusement." Lady Magic laughed.
"Tell her that I am sincerely sorry, but not sorry." I said with laughter in my voice. Lady Magic giggled again.
"I'll be sure to tell her that. I am proud of you though. You have come a long way, Evie. You will be rewarded greatly after the war." Lady Magic said. "I just wish you would reconsider about staying here, but I do understand that. A life without magic is simpler for you. You also have a great many people that will be returning home with you. I can say all but one of your old friends will stay here."
"Jonah most likely. I see the way he looks at David. He'll follow him anywhere." I said. She smiled at my reply. "We have much more to talk about I reckon?"
"We do." She turned serious. This is going to be a long night then.
