I walked into the training area and sighed. Today I gave them a day off, because I don't think I could listen to their whining anymore. I thought that taking a day to myself and work out would do me some good. I have stress I need to get out of my body. "Mind if I join you?" David asked. I smiled.
"Of course. Swords?" I asked.
"Sounds brilliant. Haven't had a good spar since we left the ship." David picked of a sword. "I have missed it." He tossed the sword up and down before setting it back on the table. He picked up another one and smiled. "Perfect."
"Only one? You always do two." I said. He shrugged. "Ah, I see. You want to try and best someone who has two swords. I suppose that will do you some good when it comes time for battle. Are you ready?" I asked as I pulled out both my swords.
"Always." He lunged at me without warning. I easily blocked his blow. "Still always prepared, even if you have no warning. How do you do it?" He questioned as we fell into an easy fight. I only smiled. "Of course, a magician never reveals their secrets." I ducked and knocked him off his feet. He quickly got up.
I aimed for David's right side before slashing at his legs. He jumped over my sword and flipped behind me. "I see you've been practicing. I'm impressed." I said. "But you still aren't good enough." I kicked his sword out of his hand. I got it in my hand." He looked at me stunned.
We turned when we heard clapping. Jared and Stayne stood there, looking impressed, which is something that is hard to do. Tarrant walked from behind them and smiled. "Impressive as always, Evie. Two to one?" He asked. David grinned and tossed Tarrant a sword. Stayne and Jared walked off to the side to watch.
"I'm still going to beat the both of you. No hold backs? Magic and all?" I asked.
"Sure. I am the only one to ever beat you at a sword fight, so I think this will end up being fun. What do you say, David?" Tarrant asked.
"A wonderful idea." He responded. I grinned. "Do you still think you can win, Evie?"
"Of course." I responded. I took my stance while they took theirs.
None of us moved for a while. While this happened, a small crowd had begun to form. Among them are the trainees, Miranda, Villy, and my husbands. Alexis must still be sleeping. "Think we can impress them?" I asked. The boys nodded.
Tarrant lashed out, sword nearly getting my side. I was able to block him, and then quickly blocked David's blow. I pushed the both of them. They stumbled, but quickly found their footing. David waved his hand. Roots shot out of the ground, but I quickly shot fire at them, burning them. I laughed at David's small pout. I waved my hand and his sword flew out of it. He narrowed his eyes. "I see how it is then!" He shouted.
Tarrant knocked me to the ground, snagging my swords from me. He nodded to David, who looked at him impressed. I shook my head in amusement and pulled out two sharp daggers. Tarrant's eyes bulged out and David looked annoyed. David's eyes then brighten up and he tossed a sword over my head. Turning around, I saw Alexis standing with a smirk. "Oh, sneaky one." I giggled. She eyed me wearily. I only grinned.
Thirty minutes went by. The four of us are sweaty and worn out, but it didn't seem to faze us. "This can go on forever." I said.
"So true. How are you able to go against three people for this long?" Alexis asked. She had blood dripping into her right eye, due to a cut I had created. "Guys, we aren't going to beat her. She is able to block everything we do!"
"Do you yield?" I asked. Tarrant laid on the ground, still pinned down, due to three dagger that refused to let him up. He seemed pretty intent on not tearing his shirt, which is rather amusing in itself.
"I yield!" Tarrant shouted. "Can someone please help me here!" I laughed at him. David and Alexis nodded at me. "Hello, helpless prince on the ground." Alexis rolled her eyes and bent down to help Tarrant. I waved my hand after they continued to struggle. The daggers went back to their places.
"That was fun." I said.
"You, my friend, are evil!" Tarrant grumbled.
"Ah, but you still love." I pointed out. He smiled. "Now, can we all agree that no one will ever win when going against me?" I asked.
"Indeed." David said. I waved my hand over the scratch on Alexis eyebrow. It slowly closed up.
"Thanks. I still have no clue how you managed that one." Alexis said.
"Honey, even I don't know. I would never hit you in the face willingly, not even in a mock fight." I said.
"It's okay. Not really a big deal." Alexis assured me.
"I must say, I am impressed with the fight. None of you yielded, even if you knew one of you would lose. In this case it was three who yielded. You are truly a fighter, Evie?" Jared said.
"Thanks, I do try." I responded. I walked over to my husbands and smiled.
"Sometime you truly scare me." Hadrian stated. I grinned. "At least I know not to get on your bad side anymore. Who knows how many times you wanted to drive a sword through me before we finally got along." Cooper nodded in agreement.
"Yes, it is a good thing you learned, right?" I questioned playfully.
"Villy went back to watch the kids. She wanted to take a few and see what was going on. Lilly is doing better, but she is still clingy. That is to be expected though." I agreed with Cooper. "Shall we head back, my love?"
"Yes. I need a shower and need to cuddle my sick child." I waved at Alexis, who let the boys know that I am leaving. They turned and waved before going back to their conversation. I sighed happily. This is more like it. Calm and peaceful.
