Divided Light

The weeks passed slowly. Too slowly. Elara's body was no longer just burning — it was evolving. Her hunger had become feral. Human blood was no longer a craving; it was a necessity. Anything less left her weak, trembling, irritable. Her senses were almost unbearable now. She could hear heartbeats across the compound. She could smell fear, desire, even lies. And the arousal… It had intensified. The bond between her, Alpha Hunter, and Alpha Liam pulsed constantly. Their need for her was amplified, but hers for them was overwhelming. Three times a day became six times. Sometimes more. Her body demanded them — not just for pleasure, but like survival. And yet… something was different. At night, when she lay between them, she felt two distinct pulses inside her. Two rhythms. Two energies. She tried to ignore it. Until the dreams began. The Moon Goddess came to her beneath a silver sky. Elara stood barefoot in a field of white ash and glowing embers. The air shimmered. The moon hung impossibly large above her. "You cannot hide from destiny," the Goddess' voice echoed — soft, ancient, powerful. Elara fell to her knees. "I didn't ask for this," she whispered. "I don't even know who the father is." The moonlight brightened. "You carry two flames," the Goddess said. "Not one." Elara's breath caught. "In your womb grows divided light. One child carries the fire of Alpha Hunter. One carries the storm of Alpha Liam. The bond did not choose between them. It honored them both." Elara's hands flew to her stomach. "No… that's not possible." "It is rare," the Goddess replied. "But you are not ordinary." The vision shifted. She saw two auras inside her — one golden, one dark and electric — separate yet intertwined. "You are the bridge," the Goddess continued. "And they are your legacy." The dream shattered. Elara jolted awake, drenched in sweat, heart racing. Alpha Hunter stirred beside her. Alpha Liam's arm tightened around her waist. "Something's wrong,"Alpha Hunter murmured. Alpha Liam was already upright. "Your heartbeat…" She couldn't block it this time. They felt her shock. Her fear. Her awe. "Elara," Alpha Liam said carefully. "What are you hiding from us?" Tears filled her eyes. She had kept the pregnancy secret for weeks. She had carried the stress alone. The fear of choosing. The fear of hurting one of them. But now? There was no choosing. "I'm pregnant," she whispered. Silence filled the room. Alpha Hunter went still. Alpha Liam's hand tightened slightly. "Pregnant?" Alpha Hunter breathed. She swallowed. "With twins." The word hit them like thunder. Before they could speak, the air shifted. Silver light poured into the room, freezing them in place. The Moon Goddess manifested between them, luminous and commanding. "They deserve truth," the Goddess said gently. Alpha Hunter and Alpha Liam dropped to their knees instinctively. "Elara carries both your heirs," the Goddess continued. "One child bears the blood of Hunter. One bears the blood of Liam." Shock. Disbelief. Then something else. Reverence. Alpha Liam's voice was barely a whisper. "Both…?" Alpha Hunter's golden eyes burned, not with jealousy — but with wonder. "She carries us both." Elara trembled. "I didn't know how to tell you. I didn't even understand it myself." The Goddess' light softened. "This union was never meant to divide. It was meant to unite." And then she was gone. Silence lingered. Then Alpha Liam moved first, kneeling before Elara, pressing his forehead gently to her stomach. "My heir," he whispered, voice thick. Alpha Hunter followed, his hand resting beside Elara's stomach. "And mine." They looked at each other. No rivalry. No tension. Just understanding. Elara exhaled shakily as both Alphas climbed back into bed beside her, their hands resting over her abdomen together. For the first time since the doctor's chamber… she didn't feel afraid. She felt powerful. Two lives. Two legacies. One queen. And as the bond pulsed around them — golden fire and dark storm intertwining — Elara realized something profound: She was never meant to choose. She was meant to hold them both.
