Damian’s POV Damian was across the garden in seconds, arms scooping her up before her body could hit the gravel. Her weight in his arms was frighteningly light, her head resting against his chest as her lashes fluttered weakly. For a man who prided himself on control, the raw panic that surged through him was new, unwelcome, yet unstoppable. “Evelyn,” he said sharply, his voice lower than intended, rough with urgency. “Stay awake.” She didn’t respond, only let out a faint sigh, her fingers twitching against his shirt.
