Chapter Three

815 Words
"Roxy?" Beth called from the other room. "I'm out here Beth." "What are you doing out here? It's the middle of the night." "I couldn't sleep." "Are you thinking about your family again?" "How do you always know what I'm thinking about?" "Rox, I've known you your whole life, we're best friends and since you came over to our territory, we're now sisters. And being as I'm older than you, it's my job to worry about you." "You have a point there," I say whilst giggling. "Now, stop moping over something you couldn't do anything about. You still can't do anything about it, so what's the point in thinking about it so much?" "I know you're right, but I shall forever feel guilty about it." "You don't have your full powers yet girl, and you won't until you find your mate. Speaking of, don't forget about the party tomorrow. There'll be loads of hot guys there. Come on, get up, I need a pre pre-party drink. And then we need to get our beauty sleep." I laughed at her and followed her inside to join her for a drink. She's right though, as much as I miss my family, I need to start looking towards my future. How can I help them without my full powers? I won't be able to find out why what happened, happened without them. So first things first, I need to find my mate. We have a quick drink and decide that it's too late to have any more. It's now 3am and we have to be up early tomorrow so we can have a spa day before we go to the party. The next day. I wake up to the smell of coffee. Opening my eyes, I realise that Beth is standing right next to me wafting a coffee in my face. Mmm double chocolate mocha, my mouth is watering at the smell. "Time to get up lazy bones. We have glam to do," she said while giggling and striking a pose. I take the coffee from her before she accidentally burns me with it and place it on my bedside table. I then go to the bathroom and relieve myself. I have a quick wash and brush my teeth. "Being as we're only going to the spa today, maybe it would be a good idea to just wear shorts and a vest top?" I suggest. "Already beat you to it girl, I took the liberty of going through your things and your outfit is on the end of your bed." "How did I not notice those on there?" "Maybe it's because, you're as blind as a bat?" "Cheeky b***h" I say whilst grabbing my pillow. Beth winked at me and quickly ducked out the door just before my pillow hit the back of the door with a soft *poompf* noise. We ate a light breakfast of fruit and toast and lots of yummy coffee to accompany it. We're practically giggling like school girls on our way to the spa. We waved to a few random people we passed which only resulted in them giving us awkward waves back and ended up with us holding our sides and leaning onto the side of the building to try and stop ourselves from falling over in fits of laughter. Going through the doorway, our senses were immediately filled with different floral fragrances. "Good morning ladies, how may I help you?" The lady behind the counter greeted us politely. "The Hendersons are here for our 9am appointment. We're supposed to be getting the full works." "Alright, let me just check you in," after a few clicks of her mouse and taps on her keyboard we were all good to go. "I hope you enjoy your day ladies and don't hesitate to call me if you need anything." "That lady is really nice," I comment whilst we walked away to the locker room. We started off with a complete head to toe massage including facials and head to toe waxing. We get dressed and head on over to the other side of the building where the beauty departments are and have our nails and hair done. Beth went for a pixie hair cut which really suited her face shape and I just had my usual trim and style straight. My hair is so long I have to stand up so the stylist can trim my hair. My hair is a lovely natural red and flows down to the top of my hips, even though I only had a simple trim, I genuinely feel like a million dollars. Heading back towards our cabin, I can't help but notice how quiet it is here. I can hear the breeze rustling the leaves in the trees, the birds chirping and singing their merry tunes. And for once, in a very long time, I feel at peace.
