Holden hasn't been quite the same after his talk with Bast. I'm not really sure everything that went down, but I have a feeling that whatever did go down wasn't good. Bast has been avoiding me for some time as well. Does he hate me or something?
"You look beautiful." Holden's raspy voice makes me shiver with delight. His hands wrap around my torso as we are about to greet all our guests. All the guards are on high alert like something is going down tonight or something.
