Chapter 4

I was surprised when a muscular hand grabbed me. "What are you doing here?" My reflexes moved on their own. Why didn't he give me a warning? I tried to hide my face from the person standing beside me. Then I heard Carl's voice.

“The system is off,” he said.

"Did I scare you? We've met again." When the guy said that, I looked at him. There I saw a familiar face.

W—What's he doing here? Because of the shock, my mind lost track of what to do.

"Red, eliminate the man now." I was just coming back to my senses when Carl suddenly spoke.

I was going to strike him in his neck.... But, his reflexes are fast. For a second, I was facing the wall. But, it didn't stop me from launching another attack.

"What's happening! I can't distract the attention of the guards any longer." It was Lexia's voice.

While he was still flinching me against the wall. I can't move because of how strong he flicked me into the wall.

“This is harassment.” I said," Maybe he'll let me go. "Really? How about that kiss you did? Is that not harassment?" he replied. I swallowed hard when he said that. It stopped and suddenly looked at my ear.

"You have a subordinate with you?" he said and moved the hair in my ear. I still struggled but he was really strong.

“Mission aborted.” My body froze when I heard a different voice speaking on the communication device.

But, suddenly I felt the lightness of his touch on me, and suddenly I saw him lying on the floor and seemingly unconscious. When I looked behind me, I saw Ronnie behind me.

He was the one who brought that guy to the ground. He was topless. I was still stunned by the situation while looking at his body.

"You two should get out there!" I heard Carl say. He pulled me away when we heard a voice coming in the distance. When we got out from behind that building, we were immediately greeted by a car waiting there. The security guards didn't catch us and no one followed us. But still….

"What the fvck was that, really Raven?" Lexia was furious with what happened. I didn't have the right to complain or defend myself.

"Stop it, Lexia. The mission is still completed." Ronnie defended me. He still completed the plan because he thought quickly after hearing that I had been stopped by someone. He had already put sleeping meds on the target and got the necklace.

“Really? defending her. Because of what he did, we will all be destroyed. That guy saw her face.” Lexia was upset.

"Lexia, let's talk about this later." She calms down when Carl talks. She rolled her eyes towards my face in a different direction.

Ronnie takes off his disgust. He was the one that engaged the target. That's why he wears a mask to hide his real identity. Ronnie tried to comfort me while we were traveling back to the base, but I did not feel like talking at that moment.

"Hey, Raven. Don't think about it." Ronnie whispered. Trying to comfort me. But, it doesn't seem to have any effect on me. I didn't answer him and turned my back on them.

We finally arrived at the base and when we got off, I saw the anger still on Lexia's face. While they were walking ahead, I was just behind.

“We need to let what happened today calm down for a few days before we move again. We will dispose of the guy who is intrepid to our mission.” He dismissed the meeting. Everyone has come out, but I know they're blaming me for almost failing our mission.

“Raven.” The old guy called me.

“I expected this already…. Take a few days off first,” he said, and left me inside again.

I walked out of that room like I was holding all the problems in the world on my shoulders. I stopped when I saw a person outside the meeting room.

“Rav, are you okay?” I ignored him and continued walking towards my room.

Our organization paused all the operations due to what happened yesterday. I also heard that they hacked all the systems in the venue to delete all the evidence. And looking for that guy who blocked our mission yesterday. If it weren't for him. I would have completed the mission well and there would have been no problems.

While I was walking to the office where my dad was. To talk to him about something... I stopped suddenly when I heard a person talking inside.
