I ended up getting a call from Steve asking if I could come back to the house since their investigation wasn’t turning up anything and they thought with me being there would bring the ghost back. So, Jack and I headed back to our house, and as soon as I walk into the house the air started to feel heavy as if the ghost was mad about the investigators being there. I sit in the living room while everyone else walks around asking questions to see if they can get Andrew Hughes to answer. “Hey, guys I just got a burning sensation on my back,” I cry out. Steve along with Jack runs over to me as I lift up the back of my shirt. “She is mine,” He reads the words that are being scratched onto my back. That’s when we heard a man’s voice laughing as if he enjoyed hurting me. Cady who has been recording us announces “Steve the camera has shut off,” Steve goes over to try and figure out what had happened while at the same time I see a black mass shoot through Jack who buckles over dropping the glass he is carrying. “Oh god, what the hell was that,” He grunts in pain. Again, we hear a man’s laughter. “Alexander Hughes is that you hurting this family,” Cady asks holding out a spirit box. After a few seconds, we hear the word “Yes” in a male's voice. A look of astonishment showed up on the investigator's face. “Alexander, why are you tormenting this family,” Steven asks next. Again, Alexander answers the question “She is my wife,” An eerie feeling surrounds me as if Alexander is sitting beside me. “What is my name then if I am your wife,” I asked abruptly feeling very annoyed. “Mary,” The voice answers again through the spirit box. That’s when I feel my hair being pulled up at the same time my body leaves the couch. “HELP ME,” I scream out as I am being dragged across the ceiling by my hair. Everyone comes running after me trying to help get me down, but it’s no use. I am dragged into my bedroom I am relieved it’s this room because it has no lock on the door. Unfortunately, I underestimated the strength of the ghost. As Jack and the investigators ran to the bedroom the door slammed in their face. All I could hear was Jack yelling for me and the doorknob rattling as they try to get in. I’m abruptly dropped on the bed so hard I bounce. Alexander materializes in front of the door laughing. “I told you Mary you can’t leave me,” He laughs while his whole head seems to move so fast his face blurs together. “Andrew I’m not your wife Mary my name is Emily.” I cry while shaking violently not from the cold from this aggressive ghost that’s in the room with me but from not knowing what he is going to do with me. Then as if he understood what I had said he disappears and everyone barges into the bedroom with me. “Oh my god, Emily are you alright,” Jack cries as he hugs me so tightly I can’t breathe. “I’m fine just some bumps and bruises from being d**g across the ceiling,” I answer still crying. “Can you tell me what happened in here,” Steven asked? “He thinks I am his late wife Mary that left him,” I begin telling them my experience in the bedroom with the angry ghost. “I told him that I wasn’t his wife that my name was Emily than he just disappeared and that’s when you guys came in,” Steve turns to Cady and says “Do you think Emily could look like Andrew Hughes’s late wife and that’s why he has attached himself to her,” Cady looks over at me then shrugs her shoulders “Well it’s not the first time a ghost has haunted a person because they think the person looks like someone they loved,” She reveals. “Okay, but we don’t even know what his wife looks like we have never found a photo of her,” I pop off annoyed that this ghost has chosen to torment me. After the attack on me, I was too exhausted to go back to the hotel so I decided to stay home. Jack went and got our things from the hotel room since there was no point in staying there. Even the paranormal team decided to stay after all the activity that had been happening. Even though I was tired I couldn’t sleep so I grab my computer to see if I can’t find some information on Mary Hughes. After going through different websites, I still couldn’t find a site that had a picture or even a description of her. “Why don’t we call the museum in Grand Mountain in the morning to see if they can’t locate her picture,” Jack yawns beside me with a smile on his face after seeing me jump. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to wake you I just couldn’t sleep,” I apologize half-heartedly. I was actually glad he was awake I hated being awake by myself. I awoke the next morning with a head-splitting headache. I don’t know if it was from sleeping wrong or from getting drugs across the ceiling hitting every nook and cranny along the way. As I rub the back of my head my hand runs over a giant goose egg. I chuckle “I guess I have my answer,” I go take some Advil then go into the living room where everyone was assembled except for Jack. “Good morning everyone, where is Jack,” I ask. “He is out on the front porch,” Cady says with a questionable look on her face. “What’s wrong,” I question her. “He just didn’t seem himself that’s all,”
“What do you mean he didn’t seem himself you don’t know him,”
“I mean he just seems angry,”
“Maybe it’s what happened to me last night I’ll go check on him.” As I step out onto the front porch Jack turns to look at me and just for a split second I could have sworn his eyes were red then turned back to his normal dark blue. “Hey babe are you okay,” I stutter. “I’m great just wanted to get some fresh air,” He replies cheerfully. “I’ll get us some coffee started,” I say as I go back into the house. Cady and Steve look over at me as I come back in. “He, he,” I stamper. “He had red eyes just for a split second but he had blue eyes when he looked up at me,” Cady and Steve exchanged glances then looked back at me. “Sweetie you need to sit down,” Cady says in her sweet, calm voice. I do as she asks as she continues. “Hunny, your husband is possessed,” I sit there speechless as Jack walks in “Is the coffee ready yet,” He asks me. I jump up and reply “No not yet I was just asking Cady and Steve what they would like for breakfast,” He just looks at me with a questionable look then helps me make breakfast for everyone. Funny thing was that the unpossessed Jack never liked to help me in the kitchen. All throughout the day, the possessed Jack helped me clean the house make supper and he even cleaned the kitchen up. I was starting to like this Jack more than the real one, but I knew deep down that I loved my husband and I was going to get him back horns and all. It was hard to get away from Jack he was always around me doting on me. I had finally came up with a plan to get away. “Cady and I are going to the grocery store,” I announce looking over at Cady with pleading eyes. “Are you ready Kay,” Cady asks walking over to me thankfully getting my hint? I nod my head indicating that I was. After we were blocks away from the house Cady looks over at me with a smile on her face and says. “So, what’s on your mind,” I glance over at her then take a deep breath I know what I had to do and she was the only one who could help me. “I want my husband back and I need your help to do it," I start explaining. “Granted I like the attention this Jack 2.0 has been giving me he isn’t my husband,” Cady sits quietly in the passenger seat as I drive down Commerce Street to the local Wal-Mart 74 Supercenter a*****e that I love to hate. After a few minutes, she finally responds. “Yes, I’ll help you but just remember this spirit is strong so it won’t be easy to exorcise him out of your husband,” She admits solemnly. “Thank you,” I say. “That’s all I ask is that we try to get it out of him,”
