A New Beginning

    Layla looked out the window as they were driving. She asked, "Why me?"

    Logan asked, "What do you mean?"

    Layla said, "You want me to stay with you both. There are way prettier girls out there that could make you both happy, but yet you have me here."

    Ben smiled at Logan, "Layla, we want to protect you. It is hard to explain, but we feel really connected to you."

    Layla laid her head against the window and she was slowly falling asleep. Logan looked over at her when he heard her light snoring. He turned towards Ben, "How are we going to keep her from her own father? She is still a minor, I mean barely, but she is a minor."

    Ben said, "We will get Niles to look into the process of getting her out of his custody and I am going to get another private eye to follow his every move. We will use what we need to get him out of her life." They got quiet, an hour later the limo finally pulled into the driveway of their mansion. Ben picked up Layla and took her to her room.

    Logan asked the maid, "Can you please help Layla change into pajamas?" The maid bowed her head and then went into Layla's room. The men walked out as the maid changed her clothes. They went into their study. Logan sat on the edge of the desk and Ben sat in the chair.

    Ben asked, "What if she decides she does not want to stay here Logan?"

    Logan sighed, "I am hoping that she will want to stay here. You seen the look in her eyes. She feels a connection to us, just like we do with her."

    Ben said, "I seen the look too, but we will need to try to get her to understand that she is safe here, and as long as she will let us, we can protect her."

    Logan was about to say something when the door opened. In walked a nervous looking Layla. He asked her, "How are you feeling?"
