No matter how much I tried not to react, his words hit me like a freight train, and my body tensed up, my breath caught in my lungs.
S-Shift? But why?
“You saw me when I shifted with Alpha Chase, didn’t you?” I asked, my voice trembling even through the mindlink.
He didn’t reply straight away, but I guessed I already knew from his silence, although I still needed to hear it from him.
“Yes, Bella,” he finally answered, making me stiffen even more. “And I’m not sorry that I saw you, because it only made me sure that you were the one I’m looking for.”
