Shane, Lane, and some of the older warrior wolves were looking at the map of the territory, strategizing the best way to protect the packhouse if there really was an attack imminent. They were all crowded around the desk in the office when the door swung open and Casey rushed in.
“Shane, you and Lane need to come with me. It is important,” she said, hurriedly. Then she very quickly left back out the door. Without any hesitation, Shane and Lane excused themselves and followed her.
“Casey, what is going on? What has you so worked up?” Shane asked, catching up to her and matching his steps with hers.
“Grant and his partner are back. But you need to see for yourself what they found,” Casey said, sounding like she was fighting hard to hold back tears. “They are in the medical wing.”
