Chapter 12

Hailey was not sure what she did to the girl but it was Crystal clear that the girl was very much upset with her presence, it was hard to stay the whole class session with the hostile vibe from the girl. She could not remember having met the girl anywhere and as far as she could recall, she couldn't place her finger on anything she might have done to offend the girl so why was she this hostile towards her? It was as though the girl could read her mind because the girl turned round and gave her a dry smirk Hailey felt uncomfortable, he palms were sweating and though she was seated, her legs begun to shake. How long was this class going to last? She hoped against hope that she would not have to seat here the next day it was hell enough already. Immediately the session ended, she almost ran out with her heels behind her head. Her head was burning and she was feeling a light sensation sweeping through her veins. It was plain torture. Her eyes rolled in there sockets and there was this light pain in her abdomen, she felt very much uneasy. Somehow, she instantly begun to feel hungry and short of breathe, being around people wasn't all that fun she thought. She could not think of anything but finding Nadiah and getting home. Even though her Dad got her a phone when she arrived, she didn't bother operating it. It wasn't that she did not know how to use it, she didn't think it was necessary, she was used to staying home and having what she needed by her. Luckily enough for her, Nadiah was just right outside the college gates with a weird looking guy who had yellow hair and a crazy hair cut. "Hey.." Nadiay said to the guy, "meet my sister Hailey". "Hailey this is my new friend Denzel". Hailey was stuck for a moment, the uncomfortable feeling she had disappeard for that moment. The new guy also stared, his thoughts were not same as hers but the situation became out of scene for Hailey. "Hi" the weird guy finally smiled and waved his hand. Hailey simply nodded, it was not something she knew what to say over. She did not want to be rude but her lips just won't part to offer a single word and even though she wanted to, she was not sure if she had something to say. The weird new friend of her sister's was looking like a picture from a nightmare, or a clown from a series of fools, she was not even sure where he fit in but somehow, he looked like a pack of clowns all together. Where on earth did Nadiah meet such a person and did she just call him her friend? This was their first day in college how?. She couldn't wait to get home, how did Nadiah make friends with such a person and that too on their very first day. "Nadiah who is that guy?" She asked when they we're both home. "Which guy?" Nadiah took off her bag. "The weird haired guy you called your new friend". Hailey added a captioning gesture to it. "Oh you mean Denzel?" Nadiah chuckled What about him?". "Doesn't he seem a little off to you?" "Hailey please, what is off about him?" He was normal what could probably warrant that comment. "His whole being, it's like he just has something over him". Hailey was not sure but the boy was just having something about him. She didn't know how to explain, it was more like that of the girl she sat with, not thesame but she was sure something was there. "Hailey stop it" Nadiah dropped her a look. "Denzel is a person, you really need to adjust to being amongst people". "It's not about being among people, there is something about him.." "You know what?" Nadiah reached for her bag. "It's just first day in school you will get used to it soon". "It's not about first day at school". "Then adjusting to people, you have been away from crowd for far too long, you need time to adjust". Nadiah adviced. "I still think there is more to them?" Hailey said absent mindedly. "Them?" Nadiah asked, "I thought we were just speaking of Denzel". "I don't know, he is just like that girl" Hailey just could not put it in words. "What girl?" Nadiah didn't have an idea. "Some girl in class, she was giving me this off vibe". "Are you sure you are okay?". This time Nadiah was concerned. "I am fine.." Something was off about him and that girl she knew it, she could feel it. "I thought someone was going to like it here" Nadiah scoffed jokingly. "I thought so too" Hailey could not help but sigh. She had thought this place would be a turning ground for her, it was better than Ice town though but how much better was the question. She rolled on the bed twice and thought of ways to enlighten her day. She had no one to go to and she was feeling exhausted with the environment, adjusting was hard, she never thought so. Nadiah who didn't want to come in the first place was the one who adapted to the nature of the environment quite early. She tapped Nadiah's phone, it was about 5 in the evening, a little stroll won't hurt she told herself. It has been a while since she stayed in Winter fell, the city was nice and calm but she had not made a single friend, maybe it was because she was not a social type of person she thought but something inside her knew it was more than just that. "Can I go get some fresh air?" She was asking but she was already walking towards the door. The main difference between Ice town and Winter fell was her freedom to walk around this town without judgmental eyes gouging out at her. She could walk the streets just like every free person and though she was not feeling normal as she had hoped but she felt safe besides, if it provides any consolation, the dreams had stopped. She was walking the bridge by the Holy tower when she felt a scent so strong that she could hardly resist. It was like honey and she could feel the taste of it, Ariana wondered what it was but it became strong and irresistable. The scent was far too strong and the taste was delicious, she could see herself feasting on loafs of honey and with that came a satisfaction she could not refute, it was amazing. Her head became light and the scents and taste were the only thing she could feel, her feet was moving towards a direction she could not tell, at that time it was not the direction that mattered, it was the scent.
