Slowly but surely, under Bigtree’s firm direction, the large barn of a building gained a semblance of order. The initial jockeying for position had been necessary, for Bigtree never made major changes to what had already been established. He merely had walls moved slightly, perhaps set back half a meter here or angled ten degrees differently there. His changes were definitive; more than anything else, they defined the relationships between the different factions. No detail was too small and no group was too influential to escape his haughty gaze. At last he came past the point where Jade, Megan, and Peaches were standing.
