Ines Vicente’s honey colored eyes were full of concern but they softened at my words. Despite him having explained himself for the horrible things he had said about me, he knew I was still hurt. He hated himself for having spoken such things and he was determined to make it up to me. But despite the pain that still lingered from that night, I couldn’t deny him. I couldn’t pretend as if he didn’t mean the world to me. “What are you fools looking at?” A booming voice shouted. “Haven’t any of you men seen a beautiful young woman before? Get your lazy selves back to work!” Captain Tito made his way through the men who began to scurry off to their positions.
