CHAPTER TWO

LAVINA POV

"Thanks, babe, call me once you're done with your class, or I'll call you if I get off work early," I said to Ruth as I got down for the car.

"We'll meet at our usual spot, I'm gonna finish my class by 3, I think, bye babe," she said to me as I drove off.

I walked into the coffee shop and I saw a girl enter the staff-only door and I rushed to meet her.

"Good morning, I'm Lavina, the new waitress," I said to the girl at the front of the staff-only door.

"Oh hi I'm Becca I'm also a server here too, is so nice to meet you, the manager told me we have a new employee but I didn't know you'd be this beautiful," she said with a bright smile on her face.

"Thank you so much." I blushed at her compliment

"Come come, come, let me introduce you to the other staff before we open and get busy so you don't get confused."

"This is Daniel our head chef she points to a very handsome dark-skinned 6'ft looking guy working the grill, that's Jake He's also a server he works only morning here she points to another cute nerdish guy in the corner with an earphone plugged in. That's Selina, our assistant chef too she works in the back, and here comes the manager and boss Blake, you've both met already, right?"

"Hi Lavina, right, It's so nice you can come here early," he said to me with a blank face and continued to press his phone.

"He is a hot piece of vanilla cake," Becca whispered to me in my ears, I took a closer look at him again he was not bad compared to the other guys working here, his muscles were just right not too big not too small I brushed the thought off my mind ad and headed to the changing room to get dressed and ready for work.

After 10 minutes, the restaurant became full and buzzing, with lots of students and workers rushing in for their respective places. We didn't even have time to take a break cause of the morning rush.

"How was your first day at work?" Becca asked as we both headed to the changing room after a long day of work.

"It was unexpected you said it was always busy but I didn't expect that many customers in the morning," I said as I began changing my clothes."

"Yeah, it's always like that almost every morning, so you'll get used to it over time." she said to me in a pity tone."

"Okay, thanks for your help on my first day at work. I appreciate the help, I have to go now. I'm heading over for my second job. But thank you again for today, " I said as I waved her goodbye and headed out the door."

My second job at the club starts at around 7 and it was just 3 so I called Ruth to ask if she was already at our usual spot, she told me something came up with her professor and she would be there in the next 20mins, I went to sit at the Macdonald our usual spot right across her class and order a large fries and chicken nugget to have for lunch.

She later arrived, looking more stressed than me. I just laughed at her and we talked and she placed her order, we ate our meal and I told her about my first day at work.

"So you're telling me you work with three hot pieces of cake and you didn't get one of them number."She said, giving me a weird look as she sipped her drink."

"Ruth, I'm not interested in them, I just told you they were cute cause you asked about it nothing more, and besides I don't wanna get into a relationship I don't have time and mind for that."

"Girl, you need to stop thinking like that and enter into a healthy relationship. You can't let what your stupid ex did to you affect you, and that was like a year ago let it go, babe."

"I'm not stressed about that no more, I'm stressed about my life........ wait a minute my mom's calling me."

"Why's she calling you after what she did."

"I don't know let me answer her and find out. Hi mom, how are you doing?"

"I'm sorry about what I said the other day I didn't mean it Lavina I know you want the best for me, and I'm trying to improve myself, but please forgive me," she said with a sobbing voice."

"I felt her pain and I understand she wants the best for us but Becca was mouthing to me to ask her why she called me so I asked her."

"Mom I know you and I know you've never apologized for anything you've done wrong so please tell me the truth why did you call me mom."

"Lavina, my baby, don't say that I'm your mother. I mean, and I'm sorry, but your mother is in deep s**t. I owe a drug dealer a s**t load of money and if don't pay by the end of the week he's going to kill me and you. Our lives are in danger. Please help your mother with this last favor and I'll get out your life for good I'll turn a new leaf and never buy drugs or gamble again please help your mother just this once please."

"Mom what the hell? How could you? Why are you dragging me into this? First of all, how much do you owe this person? Does he know who I am? Mom, answer me!! should we call the cops I am freaking out right now." I said panicked as I stood up grabbed my stuff and rushed to the door leaving confused Becca rushing after me as she settled the bills.

"I owe them 10 grand I didn't mean for this to happen please I was going through a lot and I was desperate, I never meant to put you in harm's way I just fell into a deep shit....."

Cutting her off "Mom where do you want me to get 10k by the end of the week I just started a new job, I can't ask for an advance from work, Mom. I'm coming home now, where are you? I can't let them kill us cause of your stupid mistake." I said cutting the call angrily.

Michael POV

Two days later

"Mr. Micheal Diabolo, we've talked about this already. I can't sell 70% of my company to you ever. I have worked hard for the past 30 years to get here. I can't sell it to you, and besides, you just very much started your company, and you're too young to handle my company." Mr Smith snorted.

Michael looked at Alex and nodded to him. "Well, Mr Smith, my boss, doesn't want to buy your shares he wants to buy the whole company," Alex stated

Shocked could be seen on all the board members' faces as Alex said that.

"Outrageous I will not sell my company to you. This meeting is over. Let's get out of here." He said to the other board members, feeling proud of himself.

The board members nodded in agreement with Mr Smith, and all stood up, getting ready to leave.

Michael remained calm and cold, his face unreadable.

"You all should please have your seat. I wanna show you all something, and then you'll decide which side to stay on." Alex said.

He plays a clip of Mr. Smith illegally buying shares of the company and sharing copies of his embezzlement and money laundering he has been doing for the past ten years.

All the board members were shocked and started murmuring, and whispering could be heard among them. Mr Smith was shocked that his illegal activity was out in the open.

Michael calmly leaned forward his voice firm. "I'm giving all of you in this room 24 hours to make a decision, or I'm shutting this company down," he said and left all the board members shocked.

"Prepare my private jet I'm going back to New York, and don't tell my fiance I want it to be a surprise," Micheal said as he stepped into the car.

"Okay sir, I'll inform them and your belongings will be sent to the airport."

As they drove past the busy streets, I saw one of my jewelry stores. I stopped the car, and I got down and went into the store.

"Good afternoon Mr Diabolo, it's been so long since you came to our store." The manager came outside to greet him.

He nodded and went to sit down in the VIP section.

The manager all tense brought out a new collection of jewelry, "this is the latest of our collection it is handmade by a very famous person he said bringing out a very stunning diamond necklace he nodded a sign of approval for it he stood up ad left the store the manager wrapped the necklace up and gave it to Alex as he paid for it and they left the store.

They boarded the plane and they left Italy.

They arrived in New York around 10, and as we landed, I drove to my girlfriend's house. I took the necklace from the car, and I entered her house.

The lights in the sitting area and hallway were off which was unusual for her cause she always stays up till 12 and strange noise was coming from her room I took my gun out and hurried to her room and the noise became clearer it was moans I pushed the door open and I saw the biggest shock of my life my girlfriend was riding another man's c**k I was shocked, confused and furious she didn't notice me yet cause she was still Immersed in what she was doing. She threw her head backward towards my direction, her eyes closed, and moaned loudly. She opened her eyes before raising her head and saw me shocked. She was written over her face, and she rushed to get up, but I stopped her. "Don't even think of standing up, so this is how you repay me after everything I did for you," Micheal said, shattered inside, but he kept a cool face.

"It's not what you think, babe. I-i-ii had a few glasses at the club with my friends, and I did know how this happened, believe me babe." Camila said trying to get up to go meet him but stopped in her tracks after she saw the gun he pointed at them.

The guy she was f*****g was confused and scared for his life but before he could utter a word Michael shot him right in the head.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh," she screamed and got up from the guy's lifeless body.

"I don't want to see you again if you so much as come close to me it's you I'll be shooting next," he said and left her house completely heartbroken and shattered.

He called Alex to come to clean the mess up and dispose of the body, he entered his car drove off to his usual bar, and drowned himself in alcohol.
