Chapter 7: Chef Claire's Disaster The sun had completely disappeared behind the mountains, and the soft glow of the moon illuminated the endless flower fields. A peaceful silence filled the air, accompanied by the sweet fragrance of countless flowers swaying in the breeze. Adrian sat quietly on the wooden bench outside the cabin. After spending the entire day under the sunlight, he still felt somewhat weak. A glass of water rested in his hand as he slowly drank from it. Suddenly, Claire stepped outside with a mysterious smile on her face, both hands hidden behind her back. She stopped in front of him and smiled proudly. "So, Mr. Delivery Boy…" "You're not feeling well today." "Which means…" "I'm making dinner tonight." The moment those words reached Adrian's ears, the water in his mouth sprayed everywhere. Cough! Cough! He began coughing violently. Claire immediately frowned. "What happened?" Adrian finally managed to speak between coughs. "You…" "You know how to cook?" Claire instantly looked away, as though she were trying to hide some enormous secret. "Excuse me, Mister!" "What do you think?" "That Claire doesn't know how to cook?" Adrian immediately straightened up. "No, no!" "That's not what I meant." "A great businesswoman like you must know everything." Trying hard not to laugh, he smiled. "So tell me." "What can you cook?" Claire's confident expression suddenly changed. "Well…" "A lot of things." "You just tell me what you want." A mischievous smile appeared on Adrian's face. "Fine." "Then surprise me." "I'll wait outside." Claire nodded confidently. "Just give me ten minutes." "You'll see." The moment she disappeared into the kitchen, Adrian's smile became even wider. Somehow, he had a strange feeling that something terrible was about to happen. Meanwhile, inside the kitchen, all of Claire's confidence disappeared. She stood frozen for several seconds. Several containers sat before her. Picking one up, she frowned. "Is this sugar…" "Or salt?" Then she grabbed another one. "And what is this?" After staring blankly at everything for a while, she decided to start with rice. Then another problem appeared. Where was the rice? Five minutes later, after practically destroying half the kitchen searching for it, she finally found it. "Okay…" "How much water goes with one cup of rice?" She grabbed her head helplessly. Eventually, she poured in some water randomly. Two minutes later, her eyes widened. "Oh no!" "I forgot to turn on the stove!" Panicking, she rushed toward it. And— CRASH! A pot fell onto the floor. Outside, Adrian jumped. "Claire?" "What happened?" "Nothing!" "Everything's under control!" Adrian smiled. A few seconds later— CLANG! BANG! This time, he nearly burst out laughing. "Everything okay in there?" Claire shouted back immediately. "Yes!" "Mind your own business!" Meanwhile, sweat had appeared on her forehead. She tried chopping vegetables. Half the tomato rolled onto the floor. Then she started cutting onions. Within seconds, tears flowed from her eyes. "Seriously!" "How do people cook every day?" She muttered to herself. Then, by mistake, she grabbed the chili powder and poured four times more than she needed. "Oh no!" Panicking, she began adding random spices. At this point, even she had no idea what she was making anymore. CRASH! Another plate slipped from her hand. Outside, Adrian was now struggling to hold back his laughter. "Claire?" This time, an irritated voice answered. "I SAID EVERYTHING IS FINE!" Adrian shook his head and looked toward the moon. "Please save the kitchen tonight." But suddenly, something reached his nose. His expression changed. "That doesn't smell like food…" Inside the kitchen, Claire was already panicking. "Oh God!" "Why is it burning?" She hurriedly grabbed the pot, but in the process, flour ended up on her clothes, her face, and even her hair. Within minutes, the kitchen looked like a battlefield. Flour covered the counters. Vegetables were scattered everywhere. Two pots lay on the floor. One spoon had disappeared entirely. And in the middle of the disaster stood Claire, both hands covered with flour. There was flour on her cheeks. On her nose. Even a lock of hair had stuck to her face. Finally, Adrian couldn't hold back anymore. He stood up and walked into the kitchen. The moment he saw the scene, he froze. For several seconds, he couldn't decide whether he had entered a kitchen or the aftermath of a hurricane. But then his eyes fell upon Claire. She stood with her back toward him. The moonlight streaming through the window fell softly over her. Her long hair moved gently with the breeze, and from behind, she looked unbelievably beautiful. For several moments, Adrian forgot everything and simply stared at her. Then Claire turned around. And Adrian's eyes widened. Flour covered her cheeks. Her nose. Both hands. Even her hair. She stood there holding a kitchen knife while glaring angrily at him. But at that moment, she looked far more adorable than terrifying. "Don't you dare!" Claire pointed the knife toward him. "If you laugh…" "Even a little…" "I'll murder you with this knife!" And hearing those words… Adrian finally lost the battle. He burst out laughing. Adrian stood there with his lips pressed tightly together, doing everything he could to keep himself from laughing. But the moment his eyes landed on the flour covering Claire's cheeks, the tiny piece of cilantro stuck in her hair, and the kitchen knife she was holding, the battle was over. A smile spread across his face, and the next second, he burst into laughter. "Hahaha… Claire…" "Hahaha… you…" He could barely speak between laughs. "Stop it!" Claire pointed the knife at him immediately. "You don't need to laugh so much!" "I already warned you." "I'll seriously murder you!" But there was far more embarrassment and shyness in her eyes than anger. Even she knew that she looked absolutely ridiculous at the moment. And the more Adrian laughed, the redder her face became. "Oh, you're having a lot of fun, aren't you?" She gritted her teeth. "Just wait." "I'll show you." 🦇 Dear Readers, If you're enjoying My Boyfriend Is a Vampire, please support the story by voting and adding it to your library so you don't miss future chapters.
