Fire. That was what she had dreamt of, it was confusing for her, and she didn't want any of it to happen. Elena woke up gloomy in her friend's house. She didn't expect that Evelyn would be there as well. She hated her guts, and she had the right to. After all, spreading rumors about her wasn't a good thing, because of her, she lost a chance with her crush and lost many friends. Only Meggie and Susanne believed her, but she found it questionable that Meggie, out of all the people, invited Evelyn over. I don't want to lose another friend because of her... Elena was way too worried about it, but she couldn't do anything about it for now. After all, she had other worries. One of them was the new 'sister', who she didn't dare to call yet. She didn't trust her enough and she didn't like how wicked she appeared to be. Why did they even adopt her in the first place? "Oh, you're awake already?" Meggie spoke out, startling Elena in response. "Gosh, you scared me, Meggie!?" She let out and soon after that she exhaled, hoping to calm down somehow, but all of that noise made Evelyn wake up. "Good morning, girls!!!" She smiled at the two of them, making Elena glance down for a second. I just need to calm down... "Oh, I have to go to the toilet..." Elena let out and soon after that, she stood up, not minding the glances she got upon herself. _______ "Thank God..." Elena muttered to herself as she glanced at herself in the mirror. I look like a mess... She sighed. "I must get-" _______ Fire. It was everywhere, the house that she had lived in for almost fourteen years burned in front of her eyes. The smoke didn't bother her for some reason, the wind blowing her hair right to left and it repeated just like that for what felt like an eternity. It did pain her, the possible feeling of losing everything. Just like that, a figure of a young girl similar to Lucy appeared, making her eyes widen out of shock. She wanted to scream, but couldn't, she felt like she was paralyzed. "I am not who I seem to be." _______ With those words coming out of her mouth, Elena came back to her senses. What was this all about...? She swallowed a lump of saliva and soon after that she decided to wash her face. It was too much for her to handle after all. She felt like she was going to faint in the bathroom. I need to calm myself down. It was never this vivid before, why was she there? Is she going to haunt me...? She didn't know and she didn't want to find out, at least not now. _______ On the other hand, Lucy was busy with her little chats with her adoptive mother. She didn't mind her as much as she thought she would, she truly felt like she was her mother, even if that wasn't logical, since her parents left her, but she didn't mind that. She finally had someone who cared for her. It was a weird feeling indeed. "Lucy, could you please give me some salt?" Her adoptive mother asked, of course, that Lucy wanted to help her out, but she still didn't know where things were. "Sorry, but I have no idea where it is..." Lucy let out and, of course, Sally understood that just by nodding in response and grabbing the salt that was on Lucy's left side. Lucy awkwardly smiled at her. "Sorry, I'm not used to this..." Lucy let out. "It's fine, I know that it's hard for you, but I just hope you know that we're there for you. You're a part of a family after all." She smiled at her. "Thank you..." Lucy said as she glanced at Sally, but a few seconds later she glanced down, feeling slightly uneasy. It wasn't only because everything was new to her, but just for a second she thought that she saw a figure- a dark figure lurking behind Sally, but she ignored it, she thought that she didn't get enough sleep, which was true. "The lights are flickering again..." She could hear Sally sigh. "I should call James's friends to check the electricity again..." Lucy glanced at her, slightly confused. "We had trouble with it for some time, it's nothing serious..." Sally assured, but Lucy had a feeling that something was off with the house she lived in even if she didn't live there for years, that weird energy and some unusual moments that she witnessed- it was enough for her to know that not everything is as it seems. Maybe that was her problem, maybe she was just overthinking and everything was fine. Unfortunately, she didn't know. She was afraid to find out though. _______ "What is it now, Elena?" Victor asked, slightly annoyed. He knew that his sister could be a nuisance, but he didn't know that he'd find her that annoying. "Just- just listen to me, Victor..." Elena let out. Victor widened his eyes in response to that. "What happened this time?" Victor asked, obviously worried. "Evelyn is here..." As soon as he heard that, Victor knew how bad it was. "Want me to call mum? She can pick you up." He let out, but he could hear Elena's sigh coming from the other side of the phone and he knew that Elena didn't want that. "It's fine, I'll just walk...I need some time to think about some stuff..." Victor felt bad, but he knew that he couldn't do anything to help her. "Bye..." Elena let out and soon after that, she hung up. "Was that your mum?" He heard Jason ask as he walked towards him. He shook his head in denial. Jason was his best friend and they had known each other ever since they turned eight years old. They were both bullied and called names such as freaks, losers, and rats- it was a terrible time for Victor, but because of Jason, he survived that by talking about games and movies they both enjoyed and having sleepovers with each other. He could bear anything as long as he had Jason by his side. Maybe he needed him more than he thought he would, but he didn't want to admit it. "Was it Lena?" Jason asked and, of course, that he was right. "Yup..." He shrugged as he glanced at the brunette holding a basketball in his hands, probably ready to play with him. "She has some troubles with her friends and I don't know how to help her with that..." Victor admitted as he glanced at Jason who sighed in response. "Everything is going to be okay, I have a hunch." He grinned at him and of course that it did make Victor smile, somehow Jason had always found a way to cheer him up. "Catch!" Jason let out excitedly, making Victor flinch at first, but because of his good reflexes, he caught it. "Thanks." Victor smiled in his direction. Jason raised an eyebrow at him. "For what?" Victor glanced down. "For cheering me up." Jason smiled back at him. "What are friends for?" Jason chuckled. "Let's play now!" Jason said and, of course, Victor glanced at him. "Be ready to lose!?" Jason furrowed his brows at him. "You'll lose and buy me ice cream instead." He said with confidence. A few moments later, they both burst into laughter. Victor was happy that he had a friend like Jason. Nothing or no one could ever change that.
