"This is your bedroom from now on," James said as he smiled at her, while Lucy could not believe her eyes. She had her bed, she noticed that it was on the table which was opposite the window, and was in the middle of the whole bedroom. She even noticed headphones. Oh, my God!? Yes, they were white, even though she didn't like the color choice she was thankful. She glanced back at her adoptive father and smiled. "Thank you." She said and soon after that he just nodded in response. "Well, I'll be going, I have some things to take care of." He shrugged while Lucy nodded at him. Soon after that, she entered her bedroom and it felt like she had just entered heaven. "Everything is just so cool..." She said out of happiness. She glanced at her bed once again as he decided to lay on it. "It's so soft..." She mumbled to herself. "Not those hard rock mattresses in that orphanage..." She sighed. "Why are you talking to yourself?" She heard Elena ask. "Huh?" She glanced at her confused. "Uh, sorry about that," Lucy said as she sat up. "Nah, I'll be going now, bye." She said as she rolled her eyes and left, shutting the door behind her. "Someone is angry, I guess..." Lucy said out loud as she rolled her eyes. On the other hand, her room was spacious and it was smaller than the room she had shared with other girls. If you saw how much space that room had, you would be shocked that there were a lot of children and beds, which were indeed bunkbeds older than the orphanage's thirtieth anniversary. Everything was so new to her, yet so familiar in a way. Even Lucy herself didn't know how to explain it properly. For the very first time, she felt wanted. While in that orphanage, they always wanted to get rid of her. Despite them, there was only one person who wanted that and it was Miss Bailey. The reason was somewhat rational, since Lucy was a trouble maker and, of course, none of the staff working there could notice that, since they didn't check on the situation or children like they were supposed to, but they still did get paid. Sometimes Lucy wondered why they even got paid, since they could not prevent a child, her from bullying other children. A child outsmarted them just like that, a few smiles, a few polite words and she was the well-behaved child in her orphanage. Those were times... She thought to herself as she decided to stand up to check on her phone and, of course, that she had done that. It was not that hard, after all, the phone was fully charged, to her surprise, and it felt weird only holding it. She didn't know how to open it at first, but she quickly learned how to after she only swiped to the left and it was open. It had so many apps to explore, from a weird-looking app that had headphones drawn on it and Lucy had found it mesmerizing, and then to an app that had a weird-looking f with a somewhat dark blue icon. It was all new to her. She wanted to touch some of the icons with her fingers but was soon stopped as her now mother entered her bedroom. "Oh, you discovered a phone, I see?" She smiled at her while Lucy nodded in response. "I just wanted to tell you that, dad and I will be going after dinner. Victor has some kind of a game to attend to and Elena will be sleeping over with her friend..." She said and soon after that, she shrugged. "You could go with Elena or-" Sally was interrupted by Lucy soon after that. "Uh, no need mum after all I am tired, I'll just go to sleep after some time..." She let out as she put on a smile on her face. "Okay, but you do know that is dangerous to be alone, right?" She questioned. "You are still a child and even though Victor will be back it is not safe, you should lock the door." She advised while Lucy tried her best to not roll her eyes. It's not like a bear knows how to open a door. "Okay..." She said with a smile on her face and soon after that, she watched her adoptive mother leave the room. "Well, at least now I can have some peace." She said and soon after that, she sighed because she had felt freedom, something that she had yearned for and that was only one of the reasons why she had always wanted to turn eighteen and not be adopted, but then again she was scared. She was nearly three months old when her biological parents or a parent had left her on the porch with only a paper stock to her torso that red "Lucy" that was even how she ended up with a name in the first place. The man that took her in was fifty-five at the time and his name was George Adams with his wife Bailey. They couldn't have any children and they found out about it pretty late. Maybe that was even the reason why they assembled it in the first place. But, things had started going downhill ever since George died. His wife Bailey was devastated even though she did accept to be the principal of the orphanage, as they would like to call it, she got lost in her mourning for her husband and maybe even all of those papers that she had to deal with. That was not enough of a reason to neglect children like that, since they have already felt like that ever since they entered that place. George was never like that, he came from his office to check on them, sometimes he even brought them toys to play with, he even saw good in Lucy, but he never realized how bad she was towards them. "Everything was fine then..." She said as she decided to take a walk outside even though it was already half past eleven, but she didn't care.
