Fifty Million!

"Uncle, don't touch me. I'm not familiar with you!" Jackson's expression was serious, and his face was as tight as a small bun. Dad had bullied his Mommy, so he decided to give him a hard time! Reed was speechless. He coughed to cover up his embarrassment. "Kaleigh, don't disturb Ms. Carter. If you speak rudely again, I don't mind sending you abroad for a few years." Kaleigh’s face turned pale, and she dared not say a word. Then Reed asked Leah, "How is my father's condition?" In reality, Reed didn't have much hope in his heart. He didn't expect Leah to cure his father. After all, there were so many experts at home and abroad who had no idea how to cure his father. Leah was so young. Even though her medical skills were excellent, how capable could she actually be? Leah took back her hand after taking the old man’s pulse and said after a moment, "Your father's condition has deteriorated, but it's not a difficult thing for me. I can wake him up in an hour and he can recover in half a month." When she said that, everyone looked at her with a strange expression. Some were shocked while some were contemptuous. Just like Kaleigh, most of them were in disbelief. She said, "It's easy to talk. My father has been in a coma for a whole week and we have tried all means. What can you do to wake him up? You’re joking about him recovering completely in half a month!" "Kaleigh!" Reed frowned and shouted. Kaleigh immediately shut up and dared not make a sound. "Are you serious?" Reed stared at Leah with burning eyes. Leah nodded slightly. "Yes." "Then please cure my father. As long as you can save him, I will agree to any of your requests." Leah smiled slightly and said, "It's said that you should trust the person in the position. Mr. Thomas, I admire your courage. Unlike some incompetent people, they will only slander others and accuse them as swindlers." Kaleigh’s face turned red. However, as Reed was present, she dared not lose her temper. Leah opened her medical kit, took out a cloth bag, and opened it. There were rows of silver needles of different lengths, shining coldly. Seeing this, everyone was shocked. "Is Leah going to use acupuncture?" They had already invited famous Chinese medicine masters to attempt acupuncture on George, but their efforts were futile. At such a young age, was Leah going to succeed where those masters failed? Leah quickly sterilized the silver needles and pierced each of George's acupuncture points, wrists, and ankles with needles. Then, she slowly manipulated the needles and opened George's meridians. She looked focused. Everyone didn't understand the techniques of acupuncture very well, but they were shocked by Leah's smooth and skillful technique. Reed stared intently at Leah's movements. He could tell that Leah was very confident in her movements. She was not a swindler fishing for fame and fortune. It seemed that his previous speculations about her were all misunderstandings. Reed pursed his thin lips. He was slightly annoyed, but he hid it very well. About half an hour later, Leah put away the silver needles and wiped away the cold sweat on her forehead. "In a while, George will wake up." Leah stood up and reached out her hand to Reed. "Mr. Thomas, you promised to fulfill all my requests as long as I can save Mr. George." "Of course." Reed couldn’t figure out what this woman wanted to do. "Initially, I didn’t want to charge for the consultation fee since Harrison and I are friends. But since Mr. Thomas has spoken, I'd like to charge for it." If she didn't charge Reed a huge amount, she wouldn't be able to ease her anger! Leah showed Reed five fingers, "What do you think of this amount?" Reed agreed at once, "Fifty million’s not a problem. If my father is safe and sound, I'll give you another thirty million for the treatment." Leah was lost for words. She had only wanted five million. D*mn, it seemed that she had underestimated Reed's capability! Hearing this, Kaleigh shouted, "Reed, you can't trust this woman! Dad hasn't woken up yet. What if she runs away with the money?" Leah snorted and sat calmly on the sofa, "Ms. Thomas, don't worry. I will sit here and wait for Mr. George to wake up. When he wakes up, I will collect the consultation fee." Jackson showed Kaleigh an ugly expression. "My mommy's medical skills aren’t something you mortals can understand!" His aunt was even more annoying than his dad! Kaleigh was speechless. Time passed by. Everyone was waiting anxiously. Almost twenty minutes later, Kaleigh snorted and said to Leah sarcastically, "Didn't you brag that my father will wake up in an hour? It's already been an hour, and he hasn't woken up yet. You're a swindler indeed!" Leah said calmly, "There are five minutes left to the hour." Just as she finished speaking, George, who was laying on the hospital bed, cleared his throat and slowly opened his eyes. "Bri–bring me some water–" "Quick, go get some water!" Someone shouted, and the Thomas family members who were in a daze all woke up, and the ward became a little chaotic. Someone ran out to call the doctor, while another went to get some water. There were a few people who surrounded George to inquire about his health. Seeing this, Leah frowned and said to Reed, "Mr. George has just woken up and is still in a weak state. Ask these people to leave and visit him in batches." Reed lowered his voice immediately, "Everyone leave and come in one by one!" The Thomas family didn’t dare to disobey Reed. At the same time, they admired Leah's medical skills in their hearts. So many experts failed to cure George's illness. Leah woke him up just by pricking him with a few needles. It was simply a miracle! "Ms. Carter, please. I have something to say to you." Reed invited Leah. Leah remained silent. She held Jackson's hand and left the ward with him. The two of them came outside. Leah was also very decisive. She reached out her small white hand to Reed. "Mr. Thomas, take it out." Reed was stunned. "What?" "The payment for the treatment. You promised fifty million dollars. You won't go back on your word, will you?" Leah snorted softly. Although her opinion of Reed had changed a little after his behavior that day, she still couldn't let go of her prejudice against the man. Reed came to his senses and laughed. "Ms. Carter, I will send someone to pay you the consultation fee. There won’t be a dollar less than fifty million. In addition, I will add an extra thirty million dollars for you." Reed's attitude was so polite that Leah didn't want to make things difficult for him. She thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll give Mr. George another prescription. He only needs to take it for a month and he’ll recover naturally. Try not to irritate him during this period of recovery." "I understand." Reed nodded. His eyes were deep. "Ms. Carter, I hope you can forgive me for all the offenses previously at Thomas Co." "If you don’t forgive me, I am willing–" Leah waved her hand and said impatiently, "Come on, I don't have any opinions about you. We’ll mind our own business so we don't have a chance to meet in the future. Don't worry about it!" A playful smile suddenly appeared on the corner of Reed's mouth. He had a hunch that they would have many chances to meet again in the future, so he wasn’t in a hurry. Reed quickly took a check and handed it to Leah. Leah looked at the long string of numbers on it with satisfaction. Although Reed had a bad personality, he kept his word. She was about to leave with Jackson when Kaleigh suddenly rushed out of the ward aggressively. There was a hint of obvious pride on her face. "Reed, Dad spat out blood. This woman must have caused it. We can't let her go!" Reed's face changed and he immediately rushed into the ward. In the ward, the Thomas family members stood at the bedside helplessly. George was lying on the bed, spitting black and red blood from his mouth, and his expression was painful. Kaleigh looked at Leah coldly and accused her, "What did you do to my father?! I was right. You are a swindler after all. It's just a coincidence that my father woke up!" "Where's the doctor? Hurry up and call the doctor over!" Reed turned his eyes to Leah. He also looked unfriendly, but he was much calmer than Kaleigh. With his eyes, he asked Leah what was going on.
