Great Company and Good Food

They decided not to take the car as they wanted to explore their new surroundings. They already had so many recommendations for great restaurants from Mandy earlier. They used their wolf speed to get to the security gate and they got there in a minute. Same security men were still at the gates.

“Good evening Miss Poldark, Miss Morgan and Mr Hanssen.” One of the guard that came out from the outpost greeted them. “ I believe I have neglected to introduce my self to you earlier, my name is Miko and that man there is Grim.” He said as he gestured towards the outpost. They looked at him puzzled, and then Grim and then back at him again but he just shrugged his shoulder before he continued talking.

“Before you go, I would just like to inform you that the facial recognition system has been updated and the gate will automatically let you in and out.”

“ Coooool.” Mac said goofily. Mac is so geeked out at that moment and he looked so cute. The guard smiled proudly.

“ Isn’t it just? This place has been designed and planned for the safety and protection of the high ranking supernaturals. They are the ones who gets targeted when they come out of there packs to conduct business in the City and they should have somewhere like this place that is neutral and protected. This has been a lifelong dream of Mr. Tudor, and with the help of Alpha Poldark, it finally happened.” He said very passionately to McKenzie as he was the only one paying attention. Maisie was looking at her phone trying to use the map to locate one of her favourite restaurant and Alex was looking around, as she always do.

As soon as they heard the name Alpha Poldark, both girls attention went back to the guard.

“My dad?” Maisie asked abruptly. Miko nodded.

“ What exactly is his involvement in these?” Maisie is now just as interested as Mac.

“ I’m sorry but I believe your father will give you more information about it more than I ever will, and now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to work. Enjoy your evening, Ladies and Gent.” He said, tipping his hat slightly then he went back to the outpost but before he closed the door he said “Please read about the rules and regulations that everyone is required to follow within this compound. You should have a copy in your building.” Then he closed the door.

Maisie huffed and was going to follow the guard but Alex stopped her.

“ He is right, he only knows what they need him to know. It’s better if you call your dad later.” She said.

“Fine.” Maisie said annoyed. She didn’t want to wait and all the unanswered questions is bugging her already but she is also hungry.

The three of them walked towards the side gate which opened immediately as they approached.

They walked out and were tempted to use there wolf’s speed as the street outside was quite but they were not stupid enough to risk it. So they walked. The three of them walked in silence, they were getting all the details of their surrounding. It took them 5 minutes just to get to the main road and and followed the footpath a few meters from the road towards Wimbledon village. It took them 20 minutes to get to the village, they walked leisurely as they observed. From what they’ve seen so far, big houses, gated properties, Bentley’s, Maserati’s and other high end cars in the driveways. And that’s only those they can see. Most of the houses or Mansions has got high bushes and gates that protects them from prying eyes and nosy neighbours. This area is clearly surrounded by humans with money and from what they could sense, some supernatural too.

They decided just to pass the Village and go to the High-street instead. Even though they like the quaint village as it has many cozy restaurants and few bars and pubs. The three of them decided in eating at Wagamama which is 10 minutes walk down the hill from the village. They all love Wagamama, and honestly, who doesn’t? The girls also wanted to check out the shopping Center after eating.

As soon as they went in the restaurant, their noses were filled with the amazing smell of food. Mac’s tummy growled loudly. Maisie and Alex snickered. They asked for a window seat in the upper level, they’ve seen from outside that it was available and there’s less people. The waitress grabbed the menu and led them upstairs.

The restaurant’s ambiance is cozy, the light is slightly dimmed making it look warm and inviting. There’s soft music playing in the background. It’s not busy considering how central it was but it might have to do with the fact that it was the middle of the week.

They looked at their menus as soon as they sat down and ordered straight away.As soon as the waitress left, the three of them discreetly looked around. There’s about 15 seating in the area and only 3 is occupied including theirs. A couple in one and three girls in the other, all humans. They can also the street below and the busy traffic. Apart from where they are going to be living, they have not seen another supernatural being, they have sensed a few but they have not been face to face with one.

The waitress came back with their drinks, they all ordered 2 drinks each and as soon as the waitress turned around Mac already finished one of his. Maisie and Alex just stared at him.

“ What?” He asked defensively looking at both of them. “ The man needs hydration, plus that drink was awesome, I might have to order another one.” He said as he smacked his lips.

Maisie just giggled and Alex rolled her eyes and they both drink theirs.

As soon as they tasted it, they both moaned.

“ That. Is. So. Good.”Maisie exclaimed.

“ Ahhhh…..see, see, I told you it was good.” Mac boasted. But the girls ignored him and continued to enjoy their drink.

5 minutes later the waitress came back with their appetisers which was demolished quite quickly. They ordered 8 portions of appetiser and yet it was gone in less than 5 minutes. Hungry wolves at their finest. Maisie noticed that the 3 girls sitting in the far end corner of the restaurant are watching them as they wolfed down there food, not even discreetly, they might have assumed that because they’re not looking around they are not aware about the surrounding. Those girls are wrong. Maisie nudged Mac who’s sitting next to her and whispered inconspicuously.

“Pretty girls alert.”

Mac already knows what Maisie means, and he looked at the girls with his cheesiest smile. Mac has an irresistible and charming smile, it makes unmated wolf swoon and even more so for humans.

When Maisie and Alex turned their heads towards the girls, the girls are gazing dreamily at Mac but when they noticed Maisie and Alex looking at them as well their faces turned red like tomatoes then they pretended to look at their food. They both giggled quietly.

“All right Casanova, you can dial down the blinding smile now.”Alex said to Mac making Maisie giggle even more before taking her drink.

“But why? Are you worried that it might work on you too?” Mac retorted back smiling even bigger with matching flutter of his lashes. It made Maisie laughed so hard as she was drinking making her snort some of the liquid up her nostril. It made her cough and splutter as she frantically grabbed her napkin to cover her nose and mouth. Mac stood up and started tapping her back while Alex passed her some more napkins.

“s**t! That was horrible.” Maisie said as she was wiping her that got watery with all the coughing.

“Geez girl, we just got here and you’re already choking yourself to death.” Alex said laughing at her with no sympathy at all. Mac is now back in his seat.

“I had girls swoon and fall in love with me with my beautiful smile and fluttery lashes but I never thought it can also cause choking. I really have to be more careful before my killer smile actually kills someone.” He said with an exaggerated sigh.

Maisie punched him on the shoulder and Alex stomped his foot under the table.

“Awww!” Mac shouted, making all the other diners look at them. He was going to retaliate but he saw 3 waitresses carrying food heading towards their table.

“Hmmm, yummy.” Mac hummed happily as he eyed the incoming food. The waitresses blushed, misinterpreting Mac. Maisie and Alex’s eyes widened as they saw how much food is coming.

“ How much food did you actually order?” Maisie asked Mac.

“Only three orders.” He said happily rubbing his hands as the waitresses put their plates down and cleared the rest of the used plates,bowls and empty glass from the appetisers and drinks before they left but not before giving a flirty glance at Mac who just ignored them after saying thank you and asking for more drinks. He has already started eating.

“Hey Mr Gluton, maybe next time we eat out try and order like an ordinary human.” Alex whispered while she ripped open her chopsticks. Maisie is also using her chopsticks to eat but Mac could not be bothered with it.

“If I do that then I will have to eat again as soon as we get home. What’s the point?”Surprising both the girls that he actually bothered to answer. They both shook their heads and enjoyed their food. A waitress came to bring Mac’s drinks few minutes later and asked if they are want to order dessert looking at the girls. Maisie ordered a chocolate caramel cake, Alex asked for the cheesecake, Mac just asked to have what both of the girls are having. The waitress looked surprised when Mac ordered as he has a big amount of food already. The waitress left after they told her to bring dessert in 15 minutes and they continued eating.

By the time the girls finished their mains, Mac was almost finished with his second plate. Werewolves generally eat more than humans. They also prefer meat, male wolves consume a lot of food and even more so especially if they train and Mac definitely trains.

After finishing their food and paying, they left the restaurant and headed to the shopping centre. Its early September so the weather is mild but the sky is a bit cloudy and dark, the street is buzzing with activity and the traffic is heavy on the road, it was loud. They walked fast to get to the shopping centre. They were not planning on sticking around so they hurriedly aimed for the shops that they need.

Forty minutes later, they are on their last stop, they were inside a tech shop. Maisie was busy browsing in a corner looking for a charger for her laptop because she forgot her one at home. Mac strategically positioned himself by the door and pretended to be looking at the laptop display. When an attendant came to ask if he needs help Mac dismissed him saying he was just browsing. Alex was standing casually behind Maisie looking at her phone looking bored.

Mac has heightened his senses since their new place, they all did. All of a sudden the hair in his neck started to perk up, he has this weird feeling like he was being watched. He casually looked outside the shop and scanned it. It was busy with families and people passing by, all human. He sniffed the air but he wasn’t getting any unusual scent.

“We have to go.” He ordered the girls through the mindlink, as he pretended to rub his eye to hide them as they cloud over the link. The girls looked at him but his back is turned to them. They did not ask a question and casually just went to the counter to pay.

While the girls are waiting at the queue, Mac scanned outside again and that’s when he veered his sight inside the opposite shop, it was a party store, selling outfits and party decorations. He focused his sight on anything moving, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary but he still can’t shake the feeling of being watched. He looked back to check where the girls are and when he saw that they are on the process of paying he turned his attention back outside.

That’s when he realised that he just made a serious mistake as his attention went back to the opposite clothing store again,because that’s when he noticed something. One of the mannequin that was wearing a full black clothing and a skeleton mask that has been standing with the other 3 mannequins just few seconds ago is now missing.

“f**k!” He swore under her breath. He just realised that they really were being watched and it was in the open to.

“Bloody hallowe’en costume.” He grunted, now he is really riled up but he knows he needs to keep his focus.

He walked to the side of the store without losing his sight of the door, he can now see the door and the girls are within his peripheral vision. He took his phone out and dialled Mandy’s number, she picked up in on the third ring.

“Hello Mac, are you guys okay?” She asked.

“We are being watched, we need an immediate extraction, we are inside Centre Court, inside one of the store.”He said with urgency.

“ Stay where you are if it’s safe and I will call you in a minute.” Then she put the phone down.
