“So you already know that I am going to the human university, right? “Right?” Both said at the same time. “I also applied to the Princess Augusta’s School and got accepted.” Maisie said. “What?”Mac and Alex shouted at the same time. Both have the same flabbergasted expression in their faces. “Why? Are you crazy?”Mac asked in a raised voice. “Why not? You read and saw it?” Maisie answered Mac with a question. “My mum was pictured going in and out of that school so many times and that was the last place she went that night before she was killed.” “Yes! I get it!”Alex exclaimed in frustration. “But that school is run by vampires, witches and warlocks. That school was notoriously known for teaching how to hunt and kill werewolves and other supernaturals to those who attended that school.” “Exactly! WAS known. That was more that 50 years ago. It has changed a long time ago, and now many werewolves and other supernaturals attends the school. It has day classes now and not just night class like they used to and the teachers are from different kind of supernaturals.” She defensively explained. She understands their reactions though. Princess Augusta’s School is still not accepted by many werewolves and other supernaturals. The school’s tainted reputation was hard to cleanse and although it has been many decades that they have abolished the old teachings many still holds grudges that they’ve passed down to the young generations. Nowadays they teach the normal human curriculums to the supernaturals who doesn’t want to go to human schools. They also teach different skills according to their kind. For example they teach witches and warlocks on how to improve or control their craft. They teach young werewolves to improve their tracking skills and vampires to shimmer. They offer a lot more that a supernatural would want to learn, either they want to improve their skills or they just want to learn on how to integrate their life and business into the human world. “Maybe so, but still, most of the people that goes there are the old school people who thinks that they are better that the normal humans and are too high nosed to mix with them that’s why they chose to go there.” Alex said, her tone thick with accusatory judgment. “But not all of them.” Maisie again defended. “Suuuure” Alex said sarcastically. “This is the first time that you mentioned this, does Enzo or the Alpha know?” Mac asked in a concerned tone. Maisie deeply sighed and shook her head guiltily. “What the f**k Maisie! I don’t know what you’re playing at, but you really have to revisit whatever plan you made because this is ridiculous.” Said a frustrated Alex. “You seriously are making things complicated and compromising our job.” “Not only that you actually don’t have any concrete plans but everything else is reckless and just plain ignorant. Did you even think of what you will put your father through when he finds out all of this????For f**k sake! Did you even, for one minute thought of what you will put your brother and father through if your recklessness puts you in danger?”At this point Alex is already angry and has raised her voice. She was staring daggers at Maisie who was avoiding her gaze and was fiddling with her hands. “Hey hey, Alex?” Mac said trying to get Alex’s attention and received an angry look as well. “I’ll handle this. I think it’s best to continue this conversation tomorrow when we are all calm.” Mac suggested as he can see that Alex’s temper was not going to help the situation. He needs her calm and collected so they can help Maisie because honestly, this situation is a whole lot of mess. “Fine! But tomorrow, if we can’t come up with a plan where we can at least keep you safe, I think you have to prepare yourself that we might have to go back or just forget about your revenge. At least until we actually know what we have to do.” Alex said as calmly as she could but still with edge on her tone. Without waiting for answer from Maisie, Alex stood up and walked to her room. Maisie and Mac stayed in there respective seats in silence. Until Maisie bursted out in tears and cried. Mac got up from his seat and walked over and sat next to Maisie. Mac put an arm around her and she leaned into his chest where she continued to cry. “Shhhh, It’s alright Mais, we will work this out.”Mac said trying to comfort her. “I know Alex is right. You both are right.”Maisie said in between her sobs. “I had a plan but you two are right. Maybe I’m not ready, maybe I’m too young and naïve.” “Hey.” Mac said gently while he tried to hold Maisie’s chin to make her look at him. “Listen to me. You might be young and a little naïve but you’re the smartest girl I know. Maybe too smart for your own good but smart.” Mac said pinching Maisie’s nose, trying to lighten the mood, Maisie gave a little giggle in between tears. “You have as here now and we will help you as much as we can. We will do our best because we also want this for our pack.” He reassuringly said. “Maybe not so much for revenge but for answers and closure. We all couldn’t move on until we find out why our Luna was killed.” Maisie nodded and leaned back on Mac’s chest to cry some more. Not because she is still upset but because of the overwhelming feeling that she is not on her own in this. In fact, she might not have realised it sooner but she was never on her own. She is definitely missing her brother right now and it’s not even a day yet. Alex is right. Living out of the pack territory is so much different. The next few days or weeks will be spent adjusting for sure.
