Chapter 3Mida rose from her bed and looked at the clock. She'd been asleep for nine hours. That was well needed. She wore slacks and a dress shirt, pulled untidily from the waist of her pants. Alex bought her last evening. Her shirt was two buttons open, and her long hair, which she usually wore in a tight bun, hung loose. She looked like a human girl. She padded to the shower and stood under the stinging spray of warm water. The weariness of sleep washed away and she was refreshed. As she dried herself, she could hear the doorbell ringing.
