Chapter 15Mida was startled awake by a brilliant light streaming into her bedroom. She climbed out of bed and stretched, savoring the feeling of leisure. A quick glance out the window revealed a beautiful, sunny day. She went to the washroom. Minutes later, a light tap on the door signaled the arrival of a visitor. She walked out on tiptoe, secured the safety latch, and slowly opened the door. Her heart was beating furiously under her chest. She let out a sigh after noticing Alex stood outside. “You actually killed me, Alex. It's a new place, a new planet. Before daybreak, the only person I know left me. Where have you been so long?” Mida was gasping.
