Chapter 12

It's been a week since Xander and I agreed to take things slow between us and that's what we've been doing. I have not yet shifted in with Xander and he is fine. I also figured since he is the actual Alpha he is the dominating one in the relationship. He tends to get angry easily but then I know exactly how to calm him down.

Xander had been handling his Alpha duties really well and we decided that till we don't officially tell everyone that we are mates, I would continue to be his BETA. Today we had received a threat from the rogue king, we had found a box with Xander's name on it. We were in Xander's office along with Anthony our head warrior and Alpha Ross. 

Anthony: Alpha we found this packet near the south border while we were patrolling. It had your name on it but it smells of blood and a rogue.

Xander opened the box and we were shocked when we looked inside. It was filled with dead worms and there was a note in it. Xander removed the note and read. 

"WE KNOW WHO IS YOUR MATE, WE ARE WATCHING YOU'LL AND WE ARE COMING" Xander looked up at me in a flash fear filling his entire body I could feel it rolling of him. So I calmly placed my hand on his shoulder trying to calm him down. Which he did in a flash.

Alpha Ross: Xander what does that mean .. who is your mate and how come we don't know?

Xander: Dad I need some time to think can we all meet a little later. Please.

Everyone nodded and step out. I was also leaving when Xander called me "Josh, could you please wait and lock the door behind you". Understanding that he wanted to speak to me I did as he said and walked to his side. His head was in his hands when I placed my hands on his shoulders.

"Xan... don't worry everything will be fine, see I am right here and I am fine" I tried to comfort him hoping it would make him feel at ease.
