Shirley's POV

After how many hours I slept in drowning myself in my sorrow's in my room, I drift into sleep. When I woke up it was already evening and I wondered if Ethan or my parents have come back but I confirmed someone was back because I heard noise down the stairs, I decided to take a quick shower to remove the sweat that made me body sticky.

When I was done with the quick shower, I got dressed but when I looked at the mirror I saw my eyes swollen and red as if I had gotten into a fight, that's when I remembered I've had been crying my heart out before I fell asleep.

To cover the fat and redness of my eyes, I brought out my make-up kit and applied little amount of powder on my to hide the fact that I had been crying.

After I was satisfied with my look, I left the room. When I got out of my room, the noise became louder than before when I was in my room.

Going down the stairs I heard my mom voice, I already knew why she was this happy and it was because of Grayson and Vanessa's engagement.

When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I realized it was not only my parents and brother that was home. Grayson was present, including Vanessa. When I turned to my left I saw Grayson's parents.

Everyone had smiles on there face when I turned to Grayson again to understand the sudden gathering, I saw him as he stood up from where he sat to where Vanessa sat and kissed her, my heart I was trying to mend shattered into pieces onces again. It became worst when I heard cheers from my brother and his other friends that I hadn't noticed was present. I felt disgusted and I felt like spitting on their faces for breaking my heart, and I'll never them for it.

When I was about to run back to my room, I heard someone call out my name, when I turned back I saw everyone looking at me.

I felt like the ground should open and swallow me now.

When I looked at who called me,it was Grayson's mother,who I never knew would ever notice my presence at all and not only her, another visitors never noticed me, just my brother and parents.

And nobody wants to be friends with me, it's only Ethan and Vanessa.

I didn't know how to answer her because I've never talked to her before.

“Y-yes, Mrs Blackwell". I said stuttering a bit.

" I haven't seen you for a while,how are you" she said. I was shocked to the core, because no one had asked of my well being for a while now, not even my parents, their always concentrated on Ethan or the family business.

“I-im fine ma" I said still stuttering.

“Just call me Evelyn, you already know who I am” I was shocked this, I looked at everyone and it was like they were also shocked by Grayson's mother attitude.

But everybody can back to their senses when Vanessa changed the topic.

“Anyway, mother the gathering is to celebrate and plan me and Grayson's wedding,if most of you don't know”. She said while touching Grayson's chest. When I started thinking why she didn't or couldn't keep her hands to herself that's when I noticed the ring on her finger. I didn't need anyone to tell me that it was an engagement ring given to her. I couldn't help myself to feel jealous, I've been in love with him since we where little and he knows but he never accepts me but he just met Vanessa months ago and now his engaged to her and is about to get married to her.

Everyone's attention went back to Vanessa and Grayson, my parents where replacing Vanessa's parents because they weren't around and won't be until the time of the wedding.

Grayson and Vanessa couldn't wait till there return that's what made my parents go along with it since Vanessa was like a daughter to her

I became a ghost again in their presence, and anytime some says something to me or finally gave me an attention, Vanessa always find a way to move the spot lights on her and Grayson.

I grew tired and disgusted, when nobody noticed I went to my room to get some sleep since it was already late and I was suffocated by everyone especially Grayson, and I don't want to be in the same space with anyone right now.

I went back to my room upstairs, after completing the designs I've been working on, I posted it on my i********: and f*******: as usual.

When I turned to my bed, I looked at it and wonder how I was going to sleep today, when my heart was still in pain.

I locked my door like I do every night to avoid anyone coming in when I'm asleep. I went to my closet to change my outfit into a loose t-shirt or a big polo like usual to be comfortable when I sleep and tied my her into a losse bun.

When I was done I climbed on the bed with my phone and headphones to block the noise coming from downstairs.

As I laid down for a while I remember everything that just happened within a day, I couldn't help let out a sad laugh.

I consoled myself for about ten minutes before I decided to sleep.

When I was about to sleep I noise for the opposite door, I knew it belongs to visitors and we presently had visitors. But the noise was strange.

I decided to check it out, I slipped out of the bed, when I opened the door, I saw Vanessa and Grayson making out in front of my door.

Before my sense could kick in, I've already been caught by Grayson and his piercing gaze.

“Enjoying the free movie Shirley"
