I rushed back to Mel’s house where I last saw Zara. I can't believe what she told me, I really can't believe after all this time of me trying she actually felt the same. My mind flashes back to the conversation we had before I left.
“Wait, I have to tell you something” she says firmly, her voice cold like never before.
“What is it?” I ask her.
“This can't work, we can't work” she murmurs, her breath hangs.
“What do you mean we can't work?” I ask, frowning deeply. I have told her about my feelings, so does it mean she feels the same?
