“Ace’s POV”
Hearing Steve’s word, the hopes of providing justice to all those innocent souls, was shattered. Even Chelly learned about the sudden shock on my face.
She kept staring at me. I didn’t know how I would reveal it to her. I had no clue what she would be thinking.
Looking at her current health condition, the best decision would be if I make her tension free and hide the actual fact.
Without inquiring further on the phone, as Chelly was listening, I hung the call without informing anything to Steve.
I had multiple questions roaming inside my brain. Despite being surrounded by numerous police officers, how did he manage to escape?
“What’s wrong, Ace?” Chelly’s worry-filled voice drew me out of my thoughts.
While faking a smile, I shook my head and added, “it’s nothing.”
