As I stand in my room or should I say cupboard, I feel nothing but joy, knowing I can finally put this vile place behind me, to be fair it wasn't the place, but the people, those pathetic excuse for wolves will never hurt me again. I grab the biggest backpack I could find, i stole this out of Jack's (Jace's older brother and next in line to be aplha) room earlier, I've had to prepare for this for some time and have everything I will need to survive In the wilderness for a few weeks while i figure out where I will go, but even sleeping on the floor in the dirt is more appealing than being around these abusive assholes. I fill the backpack with clothes, food, and anything else I will need to survive. I grab the teddy bear i was found with, the only thing I have that connects me to my family, the most cherished possession i have, I have wondered so much over the years about this bear, who bought it?, what's its name?, who gave it to me? i squeezed it tightly and gently put it in the backpack.
"I'm ready," I say out loud to myself with a look of pure determination.
"So you wasn't even gonna say goodbye," Jace said, appearing in the doorway.
"Oh, come on, we both know you were never gonna let me go alone. You have been watching my every move for weeks, "she said, grinning at him.
He laughed and said, "So where are we off to?"
I slowly started walking away from the pack house, Jace followed, already with a backpack in tow, and I laughed when I saw it.
"So that's it, you're completely fine with up and leaving your entire family," I said, shooting a glance at him.
"You are more my family than they ever were, the way they treated you, I was done with them long ago, besides all they care about is Jack, the next in line for alpha", he said rolling his eyes.
I knew he didn't approve of his family and the packs' behaviour towards me, but actually trading it all for me left me feeling in awe of Jace, did I really mean that much to him.
"Well, you coming with me does some what complicate things, you know they are gonna come looking for you," I said with slightly raised eyebrows.
He grinned and said, "They'll have to catch me first." and ran off ahead of me.
"Hey, wait for me," I said chasing after him.
