Chapter 2

Tonio had known it wouldn’t be easy. The events at Christmas had pretty much dictated that he’d have to work his tail off in order to get Maddy to take him seriously. There was a distinct difference, however. At Christmas, she had been busy with the party. Tonio hadn’t known her well enough in order to be rude and monopolize her time. Now, Maddy had nowhere to hide. Every mile they went was another minute he got to show her how good it might be if she only took a chance.

And all because Shawn had been nice enough to invite him around for a couple days…
