Chapter 10 – Torn Between Wolves

693 Words
Aria didn’t sleep that night. Every shadow seemed to whisper Damian’s name, every heartbeat reminded her of his words. You are mine. By morning, her eyes were swollen from crying. She sat on the couch, sipping cold tea, when Lila crouched beside her. “You can’t stay here anymore, Aria. He’ll come back. And when he does… I don’t think you’ll be able to resist him.” Aria swallowed hard. “You think I’m weak.” Lila shook her head. “I think you still love him.” The words pierced Aria’s heart like a blade. She opened her mouth to deny it, but the truth hung heavy between them. The bond had never broken. No matter how hard she tried, her wolf still ached for him. Before she could respond, there was a sharp knock on the door. Not Damian’s knock—this one was different. Urgent. Lila frowned and opened the door cautiously. A tall man stood there, drenched from the rain. His piercing silver eyes locked onto Aria instantly. “Aria?” he asked, his voice deep but gentle. Aria froze. Her wolf stirred uneasily. “Who… who are you?” The man stepped inside, ignoring Lila’s protest. He bowed his head slightly, showing respect. “My name is Kael. I’m from the Crescent Moon Pack.” Aria blinked. She had heard of them—an old rival of Damian’s pack. Her stomach twisted. “What do you want?” Kael’s eyes softened. “To protect you.” Her heart skipped. “Protect me? From what?” Kael glanced at her belly, then back at her. “From him.” The room fell silent. Lila gasped. Aria’s hands flew to her stomach instinctively. Kael continued, his tone calm but firm. “Damian will never let that child live free. He will use the baby as a pawn, a weapon to secure his power. I know him. I’ve seen how ruthless he is.” Aria’s pulse quickened. His words echoed her own fears. Kael stepped closer, lowering his voice. “Come with me. The Crescent Moon Pack will give you shelter. Safety. A life where your child can grow without chains.” Aria’s breath caught. She looked at Lila, whose eyes were wide with uncertainty. Then she looked at Kael again. His presence was steady, grounding. Her wolf didn’t recoil from him—it watched him, wary but curious. Her heart screamed confusion. Damian had rejected her, broken her, yet last night he had claimed her with a fire that shook her soul. And now here was Kael, offering freedom and protection without demand. Tears welled in her eyes. “I… I don’t know what to do.” Kael’s gaze softened. “Then let me decide for you. Trust me, Aria. Before it’s too late.” At that exact moment, the air shifted. A growl rumbled outside the window, deep and terrifying. Aria’s wolf froze in terror and recognition. Damian. The door burst open with a violent crash. Damian strode inside, his golden eyes blazing with raw fury. The sight of Kael standing close to Aria was enough to make his wolf snarl viciously. “Step away from her,” Damian growled, his voice low and deadly. Kael didn’t flinch. He stood tall, his silver eyes flashing. “You don’t own her, Damian. Not anymore.” The tension thickened like smoke. The air vibrated with power as two alphas faced each other, both claiming her in their own way. Aria stood frozen between them, her heart pounding so hard it hurt. Damian’s gaze never left Kael, but his words were meant for her. “Aria, come here. Now.” Kael stretched a protective arm in front of her. “No, Aria. You’re not his property. Choose freedom. Choose us.” Aria’s world tilted. Two alphas, two futures, both demanding her loyalty. Her wolf trembled violently, torn in half. Her tears spilled over as she whispered the words that would change everything: “I… I can’t…” --- 🔥 Cliffhanger: Damian’s wolf surged forward, golden light flashing in his eyes as he snarled: “Then I’ll make the choice for you.”
