The Perfect Family

Sapphire 1

Sapphire:

I put another mark on the wall 11 years,11 months, and 2 weeks since I was tricked into following him. I stared at the ceiling before hearing the noise. I looked towards the door. I knew he was coming. I didn’t know if he was coming inside. Sometimes he would just stand near the door. I would hear him breathing and that was enough to make me sick. It always made me sick.

I move away from the bed as far as my chain allows.

“ Sapphire “ he called as he walked into the room. He shut the door behind him. I flinched

“ Come here “ he said as he moved closer to me . I moved closer because I knew what would happen if I disobeyed him.

He unchained my wrist and pushed me toward the door. “ Move” he ordered.

He opened the door and led me to the living room. In the middle of the room was the table. Strapped to the table was Ruby. I knew that we had to listen and watch. He wanted to humiliate us. Having to listen and watch him beat her. We would listen to her cries. She could scream as loudly as she wanted but no one would hear except us. The screaming got louder and louder. We used to try to cover our ears and it didn’t help. Each time someone covered their ears they would get smacked twice. There was no way that we could tune out the screams of pain. Soon the screaming stopped and the crying began. She had tried to escape again. She hadn’t been here that long or she would have known that. We all knew. We all tried to escape at one point.We all knew you were there until they wanted you dead. It was a test and she failed. He tested us all the time and sometimes someone would fail and they were severely punished, so that we could all see what it would be like if we ever tried to leave.

When he was finished, he slowly took everyone into their own room except for me. He took me into the big house.

“Come” he shouted at me . He held out his hand for me. He led me to the big house. I walked up the steps ahead of him. I tripped going up the stairs.

“ Get up” he said before kicking me. I slowly got up and continued to walk . At the door he typed a code onto the keypad and the metal door opened up.

He led me to another room with a little boy in it, and I instantly knew who that little boy was.

The Doctor:

We had to punish Ruby. She just didn't listen. I told her when she got here to not try anything. I was used to it, though they never listen. Everyone thought that they could escape. It's not their fault though.Even if it wasn't their fault, they had to be taught to listen.You can't go easy on them or they will walk all over you. But you can't just teach the lesson to one of them you have to teach. It to all of them lead by example. I wont let them try and get out of listening to the lesson either. After I was finished I put them back in their bedrooms. I looked at Sapphire each time I left the room. I had a special surprise for her. She had been looking defeated lately,and I only had 2 options: kill her or give her a reason to fight. She was definitely a fighter. That was one of the reasons she was my favorite.

"Come" I called after I finished putting the rest away. I held out a hand to help her up.She took it and got up. I led her to the steps that lead to the house. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going. I looked at her for a few seconds before kicking her and telling her to get up. I walked in front of her and typed in the code. I put a blindfold on her and led her to the main house. It wasn't that far but I couldn't let her know where she was going. That would ruin the surprise. I led her to the room that held her son in. He used to stay in the room with him but she did something that pissed me off, so I took him and raised him myself so her poor attitude wouldn't rub off on the boy and make him disobedient.

"Enjoy" I said as I put her in the room and walked away.

I went into the kitchen and saw Lizzy in there cooking dinner.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm making your favorite lasagna."

"Great, we gonna need 2 extra plates tonight."

"Who did you bring up?" she asked me

" Sapphire and her son". I looked at her face and she rolled her eyes but quickly tried to cover it . Lizzy hated that Sapphir was my favorite but she really couldn't think that I saw a future with her. Okay, she was super obedient and very eager to please, but that just made her easier to manipulate. I had her wrapped around my finger and I needed someone to take the fall if something was to ever fall apart.I had her playing multiple roles at once and she has been doing a good job lately. So I guess I should throw her a bone soon. I wrapped my arms around her waist.

"Where is he?" I asked her

She slid her body closer to me and answered"He went for a run. So we have about 30 minutes."

I moved back a little,grabbed her arm,and led her to a room upstairs.
