Chapter 7: Veins, Surprises, and a Fierce Encounter

The sound of clanging filled the air as Daisy diligently collected stones for the territory, her pretty face contorted with anger. She was seething from the news she received that morning—Ashley's pregnancy.
Both Daisy and Ashley were succubi recruited to the territory at the same time, yet Ashley had already conceived the lord's child while Daisy had yet to even taste the lord's essence.
"Damn it! Despicable Ashley! Rot in hell!" Daisy fiercely struck the quarry wall. She vowed to tie Ashley's tail into a bow and hang it on the gates of the underworld.
But soon, her anger transformed into a sense of unease. Daisy gazed at her own body, contemplating, "Does the master only favor those with a more substantial form? But even petite ones can be adorable..."
Sighing softly, Daisy yearned for Chrono's attention and blessing.
"Gulu Gulu!"
At that moment, an earth elemental rushed toward Daisy, carrying a massive boulder, panic evident in its stone body.
"What? Can't you see that I'm mining?" Daisy angrily questioned the elemental.
Frantically, the earth elemental set down the boulder and gestured with its stone-formed body, trying to convey a message to Daisy.
Unable to comprehend the elemental's intentions, Daisy asked, "Have you encountered other monsters or discovered hidden mineral veins?"
"Gulu Gulu!" The earth elemental nodded, confirming Daisy's suspicion.
"Quickly! Show me!" Daisy commanded, urging the earth elemental to lead the way.
With determined strides, the earth elemental guided Daisy deeper into the mine. Soon, they stumbled upon something that ignited the elemental's excitement—a radiant golden light emanating from within a vein.
"It's a rare mineral!" A smile crept onto Daisy's face. If she informed Chrono of this discovery, she would surely be rewarded by their master.
"The opportunity for merit has arrived! You stay here and guard, I'll go inform the master!" Daisy swiftly flapped her wings and returned to the territory, leaving the earth elemental to keep watch.
Unbeknownst to the earth elemental, a second after Daisy departed, a shadow emerged from the mine's depths. With a bloody maw, it launched a surprise attack on the defenseless earth elemental.
Meanwhile, Chrono focused on accelerating Ashley's pregnancy. While the gestation period for a succubus was longer than that of a human, under Chrono's hundred-fold acceleration, their offspring could be born in just five days.
"This should be sufficient," Chrono murmured as he gently caressed Ashley's lower abdomen. His efforts had filled the succubus imprint on her abdomen with a significant amount of magic power. It was a unique talent of the succubus race.
The succubus mark had three layers of seals, and breaking through each layer led to comprehensive growth for the succubus. However, Ashley would require hundreds of inputs to break through the first layer based on the current progress.
"My lord, I can sense the rapid growth of the little one within me. Is it your power?" Ashley's astonishment echoed in her voice. Chrono's time acceleration had no effect on her body.
"Yes, it is. Your task now is to protect and nurture the fetus," Chrono affirmed, urging Ashley to prioritize her well-being and that of their child.
"Of course, I understand," Ashley smiled. Chrono's concern ignited a flame within her, warming her heart.
"Master!"
At that moment, Daisy hurriedly flew back to the territory, landing before Chrono and Ashley.
"What's the matter?" Chrono inquired.
"Master, I've discovered a vein of rare minerals!" Daisy reported excitedly.
"A rare vein?" Chrono's curiosity was piqued.
"Yes! Master, come with me!" Daisy led Chrono towards the mine vein, with Ashley following closely.
As they arrived at the vein, a shocking sight awaited them.
A colossal python entangled the earth elemental, attempting to devour it.
"A monster!?" Chrono's face froze at the sight before him. This python, twenty meters in length, possessed dark red scales and a gray horn atop its head. At least a first-order 2-star monster.
"Gulu Gulu!" The earth elemental, seeing reinforcements arrive, pleaded for assistance, waving its stone-formed hands.
"Eliminate it!" Chrono commanded the two succubi.
Though the opponent was a Tier 2 monster, it posed no threat to elite-quality succubi.
"Leave it to me, Master!" Daisy eagerly prepared to engage in combat.
Suddenly, a dark purple flame whizzed past Daisy.
In the next instant, the giant python was engulfed in an inferno.
"Hiss~" The python emitted a pitiful cry, its massive body convulsing as it attempted to extinguish the flames.
But Ashley's flame possessed a life of its own, growing more powerful with each struggle of the python.
Within moments, the colossal python was reduced to ashes.
"How... How did your magic become so potent?" Daisy stared at Ashley in disbelief. The flames she witnessed were several grades stronger than her own.
"But of course," Ashley glanced at Chrono, her smile filled with wickedness. "It's the power of our lord."
