Chapter 3: Trust the sun, not the moon

575 Words
At night, when Charlie fell asleep, they were in a different world. Not a dream, a whole new dimensional realm. Then, in front of them, they saw the light man. He spoke to her. "My dear child, I see that you wish to know why Jessica is your caretaker?" Charlie nodded. " She was... A close friend to the king zombie and queen human. She deeply cares for you, y'know. Take care, because someone really cares about you. We're rooting for you. Please, save my brother. He has never been like this before... However, after The fall, and the war starting and the barrier creation, he changed into... a consciousless beast. Remember to keep the light near, because when it goes out, you know that he will be there." Charlie understood completely. The next morning, on Saturday, they went to talk to Serif. "Oh, heya, kiddo. How are ya?" Charlie was happy to see Serif. They asked about the new restaurant nearby. "Oh, you mean Chaos Kitchen? Yeah, it's just down the street, why?" Charlie told him that they have a date there. "Oh, how adorable. Well, if ya need anything, y'know where to find me." Later, they went home. but... She wasn't home. Charlie searched everywhere, but couldn't find Jessica. A few hours later, She arrives home. "Sorry I'm late, darling child. I... had some work issues. That's all." Charlie noticed a red stain on the finger nails of their caretaker, and saw a red glow in her eye. However, they brushed it off as a sign of sleepiness. Next morning, Charlie got ready for school and then walked the school. They sat next to Lily again. "Oh! Um, hello, Charlie! How are you?" Charlie looks behind Lily and sees Jack trying and miserably failing to flirt with Emily, the mayor's daughter. However, she seemed to really like him. Charlie smiled. Emily was a blonde girl with long hair that , when braided, reached the back of her knees. She lost her eye in a car accident and wears an eye patch with a rose on it. Everyone survived the accident, luckily. She wears a brown trench coat and a black tank top with black combat boots and dark grey pants. She wears fingerless gloves with gray that matches the pants. Lily noticed and said, "I'm surprised they aren't dating yet." Charlie nodded in agreement. They fell asleep shortly after class began. Once again, Jessica was missing and late from home again. When she came home, she was drenched with blood. Did someone explode in the hospital? (Jessica works in a hospital as a nurse). Well, whatever's been going on, Charlie was just tired and wanted to go sleep again. This repeated the next day. And then , the date of Charlie and Lily. They sat at a table. There was a blue tinted light above their heads. "So, uh... I've...wanted to confess something, Charlie. " Charlie, curious as to why lily just started talking so suddenly, listened very closely. "Ever since I met you in kindergarten, I-I've really liked you... I hope that's ok?" Charlie was incredibly surprised at this. They were also relieved that Lily liked them and confessed to them instead of them confessing to her. [ANOTHER TIME SKIP IM TOO LAZY] After the date, Jessica was home on time surprisingly. "Hey, Charlie. How'd your date go?" Charlie smiled, and Jessica knew what that meant. Shortly after, Charlie went to bed.
