The smell in the green district was atrocious, but because of the high concentration of salt in the air from being so close to the river, there was delightfully less snow than in the rest of the city. However, the constant fishing, drying and grinding of seaweed in the area had permanently stained the ground a dark green, making it look like the whole place was covered in lichen.
