CHAPTER 14 ‘We must have walked halfway across the city by now,’ Samuel complained as he and Johnathan stopped to rest. They were back in the tunnel leading from Doktor Cornell’s secret underground room, and so far there had been no twists or turns, and no change of scenery. It was all one straight tiled path that gave no indication of stopping. ‘Well, at least we should pop out somewhere familiar. By my reckoning, we’re almost at the city centre,’ Johnathan said. ‘You mean, if we pop out? Why can’t there be another hidden door somewhere around here?’ ‘There might be one yet.
