We left the weapons room immediately, and found two men with rifles rushing into the ship. They started firing at us when they saw us. I thought at first they were Mr. Campbell’s men, but clearly they weren’t. I ran and took cover on one side of a door frame while Mr. Campbell hid on the other side.
We didn’t shoot back immediately but waited until the men were reloading their rifles. Then we fired back at them. My bullet caught the one on the right while Mr. Campbell shot the second man in the head.
We pushed forward, trying to escape through the back door. Henry claimed that the door was hidden, but we could not get to it. More and more men rushed inside. Each took position before firing at us simultaneously.
